Research shows that su essful learners have some good habits in mon.Creating an interest in what they learnStu

12、dies show that if you are interested in something, your brain is more active and it is also easier for you to pay attention to it for a long time. Good learners often connect what they need to learn with something interesting. For example, if they need to learn English and they like music or sports,

13、 they can listen to English songs or watch sports programs in English. This way they will not get bored. Practicing and learning from mistakesGood learners think about what they are goodat and what they need to practice more. Remember, “use it or lose it”! Even if you learn something well, you will

Language Points1 (1)be born 意為“天生,出生”為被動語態(tài), be動詞通常用was 或were。 e.g. I was born in a small village. 我出生在一個小山村。 e.g.

18、 He was born to su eed in life. 他生來注定會成功。(3) whether or not 意為“是否” whether引導(dǎo)主語從句,不能與if 替換。 e.g. whether she will e or not is still a problem. 她是否會來還是個問題。(2) ability 在此處為不可數(shù)名詞,意為“能力”常構(gòu)成短語 have the ability to do sth. ( 有能力做某事), 而不用 “have the ability of doing sth” 結(jié)構(gòu)。 e.g. Man has the ability to speak.

19、 人類有說話的能力。(4) Depend on 意為“ 視而定,取決于;依靠;依賴 。后接名詞,代詞或動名詞。既不能用于進(jìn)行時態(tài)也不能用于被動語態(tài)。e.g. We depend on the newspaper for daily news.我們得靠報(bào)紙得知每天的消息。e.g. You may depend on his ing.你可以相信他會來。 Studies show that if you are interested in something, your brain is more active and it is also easier for you to pay attenti

20、on to it for a long time. 2(1)active adj, “活躍的,積極的” 可作表語 或定語。 e.g. Although he is over 80, he is still very active. 他雖然年過八十,但是仍很活躍。常用短語:take an active part in, 意為“積極參加”。We all take an active part in the sports meeting.我們都積極參加運(yùn)動會。(2) pay attention to 意為“注意,關(guān)注”,其中to 為介詞,其后可接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式。e.g. Youd be

21、tter pay attention to this word in the English exam last time.你最好注意一下上次英語考試中的這個單詞。 Good learners often connect what they need to learn with something they are interested in.3 (1) connectwith意為“ 把和聯(lián)系起來” 其中connect為及物動詞,意為“(使)連接;與有聯(lián)系”,其名詞形式為connection,意為“連接;關(guān)系”e.g. Please dont connect this lesson with

22、that person. 請不要把這個人和那個人聯(lián)系在一起。(2) need 在此處為及物動詞,意為“需要” 其后跟名詞、代詞、動詞不定式或動詞-ing形式。need作實(shí)義動詞時,既可用于肯定句,也可用于否定句和疑問句,構(gòu)成否定和疑問句時要借助助動詞do/ does/ did.e.g. I need a lot of money now.我現(xiàn)在很需要錢。e.g. You need to take good care of your mother.你要好好照顧你媽媽。 Good learners think about what they are good at and what they ne

23、ed to practice more. 4Think about 意為“考慮”其后接名詞、代詞、動詞-ing形式或賓語從句。 They are thinking about a serious problem. 他們正在考慮一個嚴(yán)肅的問題。 (2) Be good at “擅長” 同義于 do well in “在某方面做得好” e.g. He is good at English.= he does well in English. Even if you learn something well, you will forget it unless you use it.5(1)Even

24、 if 意為“即使,盡管”,用于引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句,有退一步設(shè)想的意味,同義于“even though” e.g. Ill help you, even if I must stay up the whole night. 即使熬夜一整晚我也要幫助你。forget to do sth. 忘記去做某事forget doing sth. 忘記做過某事e.g. I forget to turn off the light. 我忘記關(guān)燈了。e.g.I forget turning off the light. 我忘記已經(jīng)關(guān)燈了。(2) forget 后直接跟名詞、代詞、動詞不定式或動詞-ing形式,但兩

25、者意義完全不同。 (1)look for 意為“尋找” 后跟名詞或代詞作賓語。 e.g. They are looking for the missing child. 他們在尋找失蹤的孩子。 6 They also look for ways to review what they have learned. look for: 尋找,強(qiáng)調(diào)尋找的動作和過程,是 有目的的尋找。find: 找到,發(fā)現(xiàn),通常指找到或發(fā)現(xiàn)具體的東西,也可指偶然發(fā)現(xiàn)某物或某種情況,強(qiáng)調(diào)結(jié)果。find out: 弄清,查明,多指通過調(diào)查、詢問、研究后搞清楚、弄明白,含經(jīng)過困難、曲折的意味。辨析look for, fin
