10、orts,forthechoosingofsuchpersonstorepresentthemaswereofrighttobesenttoparliament,tomeetandsitatwestminsteruponthetwoandtwentiethdayofjanuaryinthisyearonethousandsixhundredeightyandeightoldstyledate,inordertosuchanestablishmentasthattheirreligionlawsandlibertiesmightnotagainbeindangerofbeingsubverted

11、,uponwhichletterselectionshavingbeenaccordinglymade；andthereuponthesaidlordsspiritualandtemporalandcommons,pursuanttotheirrespectivelettersandelections,beingnowassembledinafullandfreerepresentativeofthisnation,takingintotheirmostseriousconsiderationthebestmeansforattainingtheendsaforesaid,dointhefir

27、ursuanceofthepremisesthesaidlordsspiritualandtemporalandcommonsinparliamentassembled,fortheratifying,confirmingandestablishingthesaiddeclarationandthearticles,clauses,mattersandthingsthereincontainedbytheforceoflawmadeindueformbyauthorityofparliament,dopraythatitmaybedeclaredandenactedthatallandsing

28、ulartherightsandlibertiesassertedandclaimedinthesaiddeclarationarethetrue,ancientandindubitablerightsandlibertiesofthepeopleofthiskingdom,andsoshallbeesteemed,allowed,adjudged,deemedandtakentobeandthatallandeverytheparticularsaforesaidshallbefirmlyandstrictlyholdenandobservedastheyareexpressedinthes

29、aiddeclaration,andallofficersandministerswhatsoevershallservetheirmajestiesandtheirsuccessorsaccordingtothesameinalltimetocome.andthesaidlordsspiritualandtemporalandcommonsseriouslyconsideringhowithathpleasedalmightygodinhismarvellousprovidenceandmercifulgoodnesstothisnationtoprovideandpreservetheir

32、anddignityofthesaidrealmswithallhonours,styles,titles,regalities,prerogatives,powers,jurisdictionsandauthoritiestothesamebelongingandappertainingaremostfully,rightfullyandentirelyinvestedandincorporated,unitedandannexed.andforpreventingallquestionsanddivisionsinthisrealmbyreasonofanypretendedtitlest

33、othecrown,andforpreservingacertaintyinthesuccessionthereof,inanduponwhichtheunity,peace,tranquilityandsafetyofthisnationdothundergodwhollyconsistanddepend,thesaidlordsspiritualandtemporalandcommonsdobeseechtheirmajestiesthatitmaybeenacted,establishedanddeclared,thatthecrownandregalgovernmentofthesai

34、dkingdomsanddominions,withallandsingularthepremisesthereuntobelongingandappertaining,shallbeandcontinuetotheirsaidmajestiesandthesurvivorofthemduringtheirlivesandthelifeofthesurvivorofthem,andthattheentire,perfectandfullexerciseoftheregalpowerandgovernmentbeonlyinandexecutedbyhismajestyinthenamesofb

35、oththeirmajestiesduringtheirjointlives；andaftertheirdeceasesthesaidcrownandpremisesshallbeandremaintotheheirsofthebodyofhermajesty,andfordefaultofsuchissuetoherroyalhighnesstheprincessanneofdenmarkandtheheirsofthebodyofhissaidmajesty；andthereuntothesaidlordsspiritualandtemporalandcommonsdointhenameo

38、llandeverypersonandpersonsthatis,areorshallbereconciledtoorshallholdcommunionwiththeseeorchurchofrome,orshallprofessthepopishreligion,orshallmarryapapist,shallbeexcludedandbeforeverincapabletoinherit,possessorenjoythecrownandgovernmentofthisrealmandirelandandthedominionsthereuntobelongingoranypartof

39、thesame,ortohave,useorexerciseanyregalpower,authorityorjurisdictionwithinthesame；andinallandeverysuchcaseorcasesthepeopleoftheserealmsshallbeandareherebyabsolvedoftheirallegiance；andthesaidcrownandgovernmentshallfromtimetotimedescendtoandbeenjoyedbysuchpersonorpersonsbeingprotestantsasshouldhaveinhe
