(adverbial)時,指地點用where

或者適當介詞+which指時間用when

或者適當介詞+which指原因用why或者for+which定語從句引導詞的選擇巧用還原法,先確定句子是含有定語從句的主從復合句,找出先行詞和定語從句部分,然后把先行詞帶到定語從句中還原定語從句,分析先行詞在定語從句中的成分,再決定定語從句引導詞。

限制性定語從句是先行詞在意義上不可缺少的定語,用于修飾和限定先行詞。如果去掉,主句的意思就不完整或失去意義。書寫時不用逗號與先行詞分開。

Thisistheboywhobrokethewindow.

這就是打破窗子的孩子。(theboy是先行詞,whobroketheindow是限制性定語從句,明確指出theboy是打破窗子的那個孩子)ThepeoplewhomyoumetinthehallarefromJapan.

你在大廳見到的那些人來自日本。(定語從句whomyoumetinthehall限定先行詞thepeople)

非限制性定語從句

非限制性定語從句在意義上只是一個附加修飾語,對先行詞或主句作些附加的說明。如果去掉,主句的意思仍然清楚。書寫時往往用逗號與先行詞分開。I,whoamyourfriend,willsharetheworkwithyou.

我是你的朋友,將與你分擔這項工作。(I是先行詞,whoamyourfriend是非限制性定語從句,對先行詞I起附加說明的作用)

(6)ChairmanMao,_____Iadmiremost,wasborninHunanprovince.1.同限制性定語從句一樣,非限制性定語從句也可由關系代詞/關系副詞引導,但從句中的關系詞不可省略,關系代詞that和關系副詞why不可用于非限制性定語從句。whichwho
