OVERVIEW

RAIDisasystemtogetmorehighreliabilitythansingleharddiskbystoringdataintomultipleharddisks.RAIDhasmultiplemethodsdependingonthenumberofharddiskorthestoringmethodofdata.Cobas8000uses“RAID1method”.“RAID1method”istostoreexactlyasamedatatotwodifferentharddisks.Thereforeinacaseofcrashingoneoftheharddisk,theotherharddiskcansupportthesystem.ThismanualdescribestheRAIDinstallationproceduresforanoperatingunitPCofcobas8000.

SupportedPCmodelsareasfollows.

ItisnotnecessarytoperformsetupofRAIDbecauseRAID1hasbeenalreadyconfigureswhenshipped.Thissectiondescribestheproceduretorecetheharddiskwhenperformingnewsetup.

PREPARATION

Prerequisite

?ThefollowingperipheralsshallbeattachedtothePC:

Keyboard,mouseandmonitor( cableandUSBcablefortouchmonitor).

?YoushallusethepowersofPC,monitorandnetwork,whicharedifferentfromoneofequipment.

?TheharddiskofRAID1shallbeinstalled.

Goodstobeprepared

?CD-ROMmarkedwith“HPRestorePlus!startwiththisDVDforrestore”onitssurface.

?CD-ROMmarkedwith“OperatingSystemCD WindowsXPProfessionalSP2”onitssurface.

SETUPOFBIOS

?PoweronthemonitorandmainbodyofPC.

?PresstheF10keywhile“BOOT”isdisyed.

?Select“English”onthelanguageselectionscreenandpresstheEnterkey.

?Select“Storage-StorageOptions”andpresstheEnterkey.

?OntheStorageOptionsscreen,change“SATAEmulation”to“RAID”(usingtheright/leftcursorkeys)andpresstheF10key.

?Select“File-SaveChangesandExit”.PresstheF10key.Then,thePCrestarts.

?OntheBOOTscreen,pressthe“Ctrl+I”keywhile“PressanykeyforOptionROMMessage”isdisyed.Pressthe“Ctrl+I”keydownagainwhile“Press<CTRL-I>toenterConfigurationUtility...”isdisyed.

?OntheIn(R)MatrixStorageManageroptionROMscreen,select“1.CreateRAIDVolume”andpresstheEnterkey.

?Enter“AA8000”in”Name:”andpresstheEnterkeyinCREATEVOLUME ,Usetheup/downarrowkeystoselect“RAID1”andpresstheEnterkeyin“RAIDLevel”.

?PresstheEnterkeyin“Capacity”.

?cethecursoron“CreateVolume”andpresstheEnterkey.

?After“Areyousureyouwanttocreatethisvolume?(Y/N):”isdisyed,pressthe“Y”key.

?Select“4.Exit”andpresstheEnterkey.

?After“Areyousureyouwanttoexit?(Y/N):”isdisyed,setthe“HPRestorePlus!”DVDinthedriveandpressthe“Y”key.

二、后面接著按照不同型號電腦的設(shè)置程序進(jìn)行設(shè)置，（不同型號電腦的設(shè)置程序可能不一樣），該設(shè)置程序在隨機(jī)帶的DriverandToolsDVD中有。

注意：在最后一步中如果要安裝 版本操作軟件需要現(xiàn)裝低版本在進(jìn)行升級。
