Mozartwasafascinatingmusicianandcomposerwhosefamecontinuestogrowmore

thantwocenturiesafterhisdeath.HewasborninSalzburg,Austria,in1756.Before

theageoffour,hehadshowngreatmusicaltalent.Hisfatherthendecidedtolet

himstarttakingharpsichordlessons.Theboy'sreputationasamusicaltalentgrew

fast.Atfive,hewascomposingmusic.Formthattimeon,Mozartwasperformingn

theprincipalofthesameschool,wroteasongtogetherforthechildren,entitled

“GoodMorningtoAll”.WhenMildredcombinedhermusicaltalentswithhersisterys

knowledgeintheareaofkindergarteneducation,'GoodMorningtoAll“wassure

tobeasuccess.Thesisterpublishedthesonginacollectionentitled“SongStories

oftheKindergarten”in1893.Thirty-oneyearslater,afterDr.PattyHillbecame

theheadoftheDepartmentofKindergartenEducationatColumbiaUniversity's

TeachersCollege,agentlemanbythenameRobertColemanpublishedthesong,without

thesisters'permission.Headdedasecondpart,whichisthefamiliar“Happy

BirthdaytoYou”.Mr.Coleman?sadditionofthesecondpartmadethesongpopular

and,finally,thesisters“originalfirstpartdisappeared."HappyBirthdayto

You“hadaltogetherreplacedthesisters'originalsong“GoodMorningtoAll”.

In1916PattytooklegalactionagainstMr.Coleman.Incourt,shesucceededin
