experiences.Thentheresearchersexaminedthecontent,languageanddescriptivedetailsoftheseearliest

memoriesandworkedoutthelikelyreasonswhypeoplewouldclaimtohavememoriesfromanagewhen

memoriescannotform.

Asmanyofthesememoriesdatedbeforetheageof2,thissuggeststheywerenotbasedonactual

facts,butfactsorknowledgeabouttheirbabyhoodorchildhoodfromphotographsorfamilystories.Often

thesefalsememoriesarefiredbyapartofanearlyexperience,suchasfamilyrelationshipsorfeeling

sad,theresearchersexplained.
