WarmingupLookattheopeningpage.Doyouhappentoknowtheplaceinthepicture?Whatwordscanyouthinkoftodescribeit?theGrandPrismaticSpringinYellowstoneNationalPark美國(guó)黃石國(guó)家公園大棱鏡泉美國(guó)黃石國(guó)家公園大棱鏡泉又稱大虹彩溫泉。它是美國(guó)最大,世界第三大的溫泉。黃石國(guó)家公園不僅棲息著熊和美洲野牛等很多野生動(dòng)物,而且是溫泉及間歇泉等令人難以置信的地質(zhì)奇觀的所在地。大棱鏡溫泉的美在于湖面的顏色隨季節(jié)而改變:由綠色到鮮紅再到橙色。由于富含礦物質(zhì)的水體中生活著的藻類和含色素的細(xì)菌等微生物,它們體內(nèi)的葉綠素和類胡蘿卜素的比例會(huì)隨季節(jié)變換而改變,于是溫泉水體也就呈現(xiàn)出不同的色彩。春季,湖面從綠色變?yōu)闋N爛的橙紅色。夏季,葉綠素含量相對(duì)較低,顯現(xiàn)橙色、紅色,或黃色。但到了冬季,由于缺乏光照,這些微生物就會(huì)產(chǎn)生更多的葉綠素來(lái)抑制類胡蘿卜素的顏色,于是就看到水體呈現(xiàn)深綠色。夕陽(yáng)西下時(shí),在溫泉邊合適的位置合影留念是絕對(duì)不能錯(cuò)過(guò)的。
