Abatterythermaleventisarapidchemicalchainreactionthatoccursinsideabatterycell.Theenergystoredinthebatteryisreleasedsuddenly,whichcancauseoutgassingandfire.Abatterythermaleventcanbetriggeredbyphysicaldamagetothebattery,improperreplacementorrepair,ortemperaturesoutsidethebattery’soperatingrange.
