InanattempttoexplorethechangingnatureofChristmastraditions,thePewsurveyalsoaskedits

adultparticipantshowtheyremembercelebratingtheholidayaschildren,comparedtothewaythey

celebrateitnow.Awhopping86percentsaidtheyplantocelebrateChristmaswithfamilyand

friends,andthesamepercentagesaytheyplantogivegiftstofriendsandfamily.Around9in10

adultssaidtheseactivitieswerepartoftheirholidaytraditionswhentheywerechildren.According

tothesurvey,8outofevery10AmericansplantoputupaChristmastreethisyear,comparedto92

percentwhosaidtheytypicallyputupaChristmastreewhentheywerechildren.

Otherholidaytraditionsrememberedfromchildhooddidn'tfareaswell,however.While81percent

ofthosesurveyedsaidtheirfamiliestypicallysentholidaycardsduringtheirchildhood,only65
