allow及物動詞,意為“允許;準許”。常用搭配:allowsb.todosth.意為“允許某人做某事”;allowdoingsth.意為“允許做某事”。e.g.Icannotallowyoutodothat.我不允許你做那件事。

Wedon’talloweatingintheclassroom.我們不允許在教室里吃東西。注意allow后面可跟名詞或動詞-ing形式作賓語,但不能直接跟動詞不定式。2.

What’swrong?怎么了?(1)該句是口語中常用的一個句型,表示“怎么了/哪兒不舒服/出什么毛病了”,相當于“What’sthematter?”。后面可接withsb./sth.,表示“某人/某物怎么了”。e.g.

—What’swrong,Cathy?凱茜,怎么了?—Ihaveabadcold.我得了重感冒。

—What’swrongwithyourbike?你的自行車怎么了?—Itneedsrepairing.它需要修理了。2.What’swrong?

怎么了?(2)wrong形容詞,意為“有毛?。诲e誤的”。e.g.

Thereissomethingwrongwithmycomputer.Canyouhelpme?我的電腦出故障了。你能幫幫我嗎?

I’msorrytotellyouthatyouransweriswrong.我很遺憾地告訴你,你的答案是錯誤的。3.I’mreallytiredbecauseIstudieduntilmidnightlastnight.

until此處用作介詞,意為“直到……為止”,相當于till。e.g.Iwaitedforhimuntillatenight.我一直等他到深夜。

“Whydon’tyou...?”表示“為什么不……”,后面跟動詞原形,常用來提出建議或征求對方的意見,相當于“Whynot...?”。e.g.

(1)findsb.doingsth.表示“發(fā)現(xiàn)某人正在做某事”,doing是賓語發(fā)出的動作,稱為賓語補足語,表示動作正在進行。e.g.Ifoundanoldmanlyingonthegroundonmywayhome.在回家的路上我看見一位老人正躺在地上。拓展類似用法的動詞還有hear、watch、see、feel等。e.g.

Iheardhimsingingthatsong.我聽到他正在唱那首歌。5....Ifoundmysisterlookingthroughmythingsyesterday.

(2)lookthrough表示“快速查看;瀏覽”。e.g.

Beforeyougo,pleaselookthrougheverything.在你走之前請檢查一遍所有的東西。

Ispenthalfanhourlookingthroughtheeveningpaper.我用半小時瀏覽了一下晚報。6.Althoughshe’swrong,it’snotabigdeal.

盡管她做得不對,但也沒什么了不起的。

(1)although連詞,意為“雖然;盡管”,引導讓步狀語從句,相當于though。e.g.Although/Thoughheisveryold,heisstillquitestrong.他雖然很老了,但仍然很強壯。注意在同一個句子中,although/though不能與but同時出現(xiàn),但可以與yet/still同時出現(xiàn)。6.Althoughshe’swrong,it’snotabigdeal.

盡管她做得不對,但也沒什么了不起的。

(2)deal此處用作名詞,意為“協(xié)議;交易”。常用短語:bigdeal意為“重要的事”。e.g.
