countries,the2025HumanProgressReportrevealspromisingmomentum.TheHumanProgressIndexrosebymorethantwopointsthisyear,highlightinggainsineducationaccess,careergrowth,andskilldevelopment.Yetthepaceofprogressisuneven.

Employersandemployeesarealignedonthevalueofskills-basedcredentialsasapathwaytoopportunity

Breakingbarriersandbuildingopportunity:overthelastyear,theworldhasexperiencedgreateraccesstoeducation,careergrowth,andskilldevelopment,drivingupwardmobility.

Barrierstoprogressshowencouragingdecreases

The2025ETSHumanProgressIndexrevealsaworld

movingforward,withmeasurablegainsineducationaccess,skill-buildingopportunities,andupward

mobility.Theseinterconnectedfactors,essential

forfosteringprosperity,showdecreasingdisparitiesasbarriersrootedinsocioeconomicstatusand

governmentinvestmentaregraduallyaddressedacrossregions.

EducationAccess:Theaccesstoeducationindex

improved,primarilyduetobetteraccesstoqualifiedteachersandeducationtailoredtodiverseindividual

needs.Thissuggestseducationalsystemsare

becomingmoreinclusiveandresponsive,fosteringbothsocialmobilityandpersonaldevelopment.

UpwardMobility:Theindexforupwardmobility

alsoshowedpositivemovement,reflectingbetter

strongworldwide

Globally,optimismabouteducationalandskill-buildingopportunitiesremainshigh.65%ofindividualsexpressconfidenceintheprospectsofupskillinginthenext

decade,while64%sharesimilaroptimismabouthighereducationopportunities.Strengtheningeconomies,

suchasIndonesia,Nigeria,Kenya,Vietnam,China,SaudiArabia,andtheUAE,showespeciallyhigh

expectationsforeducationalgrowth,drivenbyrapidpopulationexpansionandjobmarketcompetition.

particularlyintheMiddleEastandSoutheastAsia.China’soptimismaboutexistinghighereducationremainsstrongat80%(-3pp.YoY)whileSaudi

Arabia(85%)leadsglobally,exceedingtheaverage

Morethanthreeinfivepeoplegloballyfeeloptimistic

aboutupskillingandreskillingopportunitiesin

theircountrybothnow(63%)andby2035(65%),signalingamarketripeforgrowthinskill-basedprograms.Similarly,59%areoptimisticaboutthecurrentstateoflearningandhighereducationintheircountry(59%),with64%believingthiswill

improveoverthenextdecade.
