賓語從句是名詞性從句的一種,它在主句中作謂語動詞、介詞、動詞不定式或動詞-ing形式的賓語。賓語從句本身的結構是在引導詞后為陳述句語序。Grammar11(1)that引導的賓語從句that本身沒有含義,只起連接作用,在從句中不作句子成分,在口語和非正式文體中常省去。如:

1.Theboydiscoveredthatitwaseasiertokeephistemperthantodrivenailsintothefence.2.Theboywasfinallyabletotell

hisfatherthatallthenailsweregone.11(2)whether或if引導的賓語從句

whether和if均意為“是否......”,在大多數(shù)情況下可以互換使用,但whether可和ornot連用,if則不能。如:

1.we’dbetteraskMomwhetherit’scheapornot.

2.Iwanttoknowifyouarewillingtolendmeahand.QingdaoIndustry&TradeVocationalSchool11(3)由連接代詞引導的賓語從句可引導賓語從句的連接代詞有who,whom,what,whose,which,whatever,whoever,whichever等。它們本身都有相應的含義,在從句中要作相應的句子成分,但要注意其后不是疑問句語序而是陳述句語序。如:
