4、remes. on the one hand, we should preserve the old custom of letting off firecrackers; on the other hand, we should make it harmless. this can be done by banning firecrackers from public places. in addition, the setting off of firecrackers should be restricted to festival days.(b)there has been much

14、n. some people believe that lottery games are beneficial in many ways. for one thing, they help collect money for the poor, the disabled and the cause of sports. for another, lottery games provide people with a means of entertainment or pastime. many others, however, hold the opposite view. they cla
15、im that lottery games are, in fact, a kind of gambling. people are tempted to earn money through their luck instead of down-to-earth labor. they also argue that the ticket buyers attach more importance to the prizes than to the support of the disabled or the cause of sports. as far as i am concerned
16、,/ weighing the arguments of both sides, i believe that it is ok to buy lottery tickets. anyway, it has been existence for many years and proved to be more beneficial than harmful. actually, we dont have to worry too much because facts have shown that most people can treat lottery games with a peace

26、 lottery games and exert proper supervision over them so that they can benefit us in a better way.3. the impact of the earthquake on chinathere is no denying the fact that the serious earthquake that hit sichuan and nearby provinces on may 12th, 2008 has been the gravest disaster that chinese experi
27、enced in the past decades. nearly seventy thousand people were killed and a lot more were left injured; roads and bridges were destroyed; houses were pulled down and communications had once come to a stop. it seems that the earthquake was a joke played by god on chinese who were expecting a successf
28、ul olympic games. however, i believe that the earthquake has brought us chinese some positive impacts. first, it has awakened our sense of unity and brotherhood. when the disaster came, we chinese suddenly got united like a piece of steel, each offering a hand of help to people in the disaster-stric
29、ken areas. secondly, it has shown the world our increasing national strength. both the government and the army have demonstrated great efficiency in the battle against the disaster, which tells the world that china is on the road of rejuvenation. to sum up, the earthquake itself is a disaster, but w
30、e can gain positive things from it. apart from what was mentioned above, to common people, the most deeply felt thing is the value of life and love. lets join our hands and walk from the disaster to a bright future. 4. entering college: help the needy youngsters to achieve their dreamsthere is no de
31、nying the fact that it has become a hotly debated topic in china in recent years whether the needy youngsters should be helped by donators to go to college. some hold the positive view. they say that, as the income gap widens in china, the rich should help the poor so as to achieve harmony among the
32、 whole society. others, however, hold the negative view. they say that no one should expect free lunch, and that the needy youngsters should turn to other ways to solve their problems.personally, i believe that both groups have something right and that we should not go to extremes. on the one hand,
33、rich people should be encouraged to show their love to the needy and pass on their good luck to others so as to help keep the society harmonious. on the other hand, the government should take effective measures to solve the problems, such as raising taxes on high income and establishing special educ
34、ation funds to help poor students. banks loans and part-time jobs are also good choices for needy students.to sum up, donation from society is just one of the means to help the needy youngsters to achieve their dreams. 5. on the significance of the qing-zang railroadthere is no denying the fact that
35、 the qing-zang railroad has been a focus of peoples attention ever since its opening in july 1st this year. as the first railway connecting tibet and other parts of the country, qing-zang railroad will definitely contribute to the development of tibetan economy and culture. first, the railway will b
36、e an engine to the development of local economy. products from tibet will find larger markets in other parts of china and even the world. meanwhile, investors and investment will pour into tibet and help local economy prosper. secondly, with the opening of theqinghai-tibet railway, a growing number
37、of chinese and foreign tourists will come to tibet. the most important influence on the traditional tibetan culture shall be that more people will learn and understand it and bring it forward. actually, the most deeply felt advantage of the railway to common people might be that the travel cost has
38、been considerably cut down. to sum up, the opening of the qing-zang railroad is a blessing to local people and it really deserves the name “a magic road to heaven”. 6. do we need a shopping center in the neighborhood?there is no denying the fact that it has become a hotly debated topic in this commu
39、nity in recent months whether a new shopping center should be built. to this issue residents attitudes differ sharply. some hold the positive view while others are against such a new center. personally, i am in favor of building a new shopping center in the neighborhood. building a shopping center w
40、here we live has a lot of potential advantages, such as the following. first, it provides more convenience and reduces time wasted in traffic. second, it helps improve the economy of the local community as we as that of the whole city. just imagine, another shopping center means another competitor.
41、if they want to survive in such a demanding market, they must provide higher quality goods and services. last but not least, it offers job opportunities for local residents. to sum up, if it were up to me to decide whether or not to build a shopping center near my apartment, i would decide to build
42、it. if the shopping center is successfully run, i believe the community will benefit greatly from it. 7. college students should be permitted to live off campusthere is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic in china in recent years whether college students should be permitted to
43、 live off campus. peoples opinions differ sharply on this issue. many hold the negative view. personally, i believe that college students should be allowed to live off campus.my reasons are as follow. first, most college students are adults and should have the right to choose where to live. secondly
44、, the living conditions on campus in many colleges are unbearable. the dormitory is usually crowded and badly equipped. besides, the university cuts the electricity too early every night. at least dorms are not the right home for everyone. last but not least, living off campus can help prepare stude
45、nts to better manage their study and life. to sum up, we should treat students as adults instead of children. though there might be problems in allowing students to live off campus, we should not give up eating for fear of choking, as the chinese idiom says. in todays diversified world, schools shou
46、ld show respect to students in making their own choices. 8. lifelong learningthere is no denying the fact that lifelong learning is of great importance and necessity to everyone in todays society. with competition becoming increasingly fierce, one has to keep learning to increase his or her knowledg
47、e and ability to make himself or herself more competitive. besides, in such an age of information explosion, one would easily find himself ignorant confronted with the ever updating knowledge if he did not keep studying. there are several ways for one to take a life-long learning. first, one can go
48、back to campus and take a fulltime educational program leading to a bachelor, master or doctoral degree. secondly, one can take a part-time educational program. it means that one is learning part time while he is working. still another way is to attend some workshops or training courses to develop o
49、nes skill in a particular aspect, like english or computer. the last way is to study by oneself. you can learn whatever you need for your work on your own. you can learn from books, from tv programs or from the internet or radio.personally, i prefer the first one because this kind of learning is sys
50、tematic and formal. with the help of the teachers, it is easier to learn and quicker to get what you need for your work.9. what i consider important in lifethere is no denying the fact that people vary a lot in the life goals: some aim at getting rich; some take fame as their objective; others pursu
51、e high social positions and still others think a happy family is their ultimate target. personally, i believe that the most important thing in life is to give full play to ones talent and make the greatest contribution that one can to society and the development of mankind as a whole. human today ar
52、e confronted with grave challenges from nature and human society: shortage of resources, extinction of species and widening income gap. if everyone is only for himself or herself, these problems will keep worsening and endanger the existence of mankind. to sum up, i believe that it is important for
53、everyone to think more of the world than his or her own wealth, fame or position. actually, as long as one has made his or her share of contribution to the world, he or she will naturally be rewarded with his or her share of wealth, fame or position. (二) 解決問題型1. my view on fake commoditiesnobody cou
54、ld have failed to notice the fact that fake commodities have been a grave problem with which we are confronted. fake and shoddy goods flood the market. taking a look around, we can find examples too numerous to list: pirated editions of books and films, food and drinks of poor quality and the like.
55、fake and shoddy goods are bound to generate severe consequences if we keep turning a blind eye to them. first and foremost, they directly infringe upon consumers rights, wasting their money and threatening their health and even lives. besides, the production and sale of fake goods cause serious loss
56、es on the part of honest and lawful producers. last but not least, the destruction of fake commodities means a grievous waste of the nations resources. in view of the seriousness of this problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. first, it is essential that laws and regulatio
57、ns be worked out and enforced to ban the manufacture and circulation of fake and shoddy goods. secondly, the public should enhance their awareness of identifying and refusing sub-standard commodities. with proper laws and an alert public, it will only be a matter of time for fake and shoddy goods to
58、 become things of the past. / with these measures taken, it is reasonable for us to believe that the problem will be solved in the near future. 2. fighting sandstormsnobody could have failed to notice the fact that sandstorms have become a grave problem with which we are confronted. taking a look ar
