I guess most parents want their kids to be like them, but kids today grow up in a different environment. You know, they know much more about the world from the

I think a lot of people blame TV and movies when the real problem is that the parents arent bringing their child up correctly.B: Parents have a difficult job. They hav
14、e to bring up their children and usually have to work too.A: Yes, thats true. Your son is doing well at school, isnt he?B: Yes, he is. Hes very hardworking when hes at school. Then he comes home from school and does his homework before dinner. After dinner, he goes out with his friends.A: So, hes no

Shes not very tall and shes quite plump. Shes got blonde hair, but I dont know what colour her eyes are

I dont think I know anyone like that.B: Well, I dont find her attractive, but Im sure you would disagree.A: I like skim girls, so I doubt I would find a plump girl attractive. Youll have to give me some more information.B: Shes got tinny feet and wears really unfashionable sho
21、es. In fact, she wears unfashionable clothes too.A: This doesnt sound like anyone I know. I give up. Tell me who she is.B: Shes your mother!A: How embarrassing! I dont even recognize a description of my own mother! How important do you think appearance is?B: I think that unfortunately its more impor
22、tant than a persons character. Advertising and stuff tells us that we have to be attractive. I think its wrong, but thats the way the world is now.A: Im afraid youre right. What are you going to have done?A: I want to have a foot massage and a haircut.B: A foot massage sounds like a great idea. They are very relaxing. Id also like
24、 to have a mudpack on my face. It is supposed to help with your complexion.A: Good idea! We should also get pedicures and manicures.B: This could become a very expensive trip to the beauty parlour!A: I think its a good idea to pamper yourself occasionally. Dont you agree?B: Oh, I agree. We both work
25、 hard and a little beauty treatment can relieve stress. A: Maybe we should try a Thai massage too.B: Whats special about a Thai massage?A: Thats when the masseuse walks on your back and massages you with her feet.B: Sounds painful!IntermediateA: I hate it when footballers spit on the football pitch
26、during a game. Its disgusting. I wonder why they do it?B: Ive no idea, but spitting is common in many countries.A: Isnt it impolite and unsanitary?B: Its certainly unsanitary. There are many customs in other countries that may seem strange to us. For example, in Thailand, you should never touch some
27、one on the head.A: Interesting. I know that in some countries, you shouldnt blow your nose in front of other people.B: I think thats a good custom. I hate it when people do that.A: A common habit that I hate is chewing with your mouth open. Luckily, adults rarely do it. It seems that kids grow out o

What else does the survey say?Lesson 005 Movements of parts of the bodyBeginnerA: When you are a restaurant and you want the waiter to bring the bill, what do you do to attract his attention?B: I just make eye contact with him

Why do you ask?A: I went out with my girlfriend to a nice restaurant last night and I noticed that many people shouted for the bill.B: That seems a little impolite in such a restaurant.A: Thats what I thought. 32、ou and see what you thought of it. Anyway, what did you do yesterday evening?B: Well, it was a warm evening, so I stretched my legs. I walked along the canal for a couple of miles. 33、 stop and chat because we were on opposite banks of the canal. We just waved at each other.A: I need to move some furniture. Could you help me to lift it?B: Of course. What do you want to move first?A: Lets move the sofa. Can you get grip on the bottom at that end? Ill lift this end. I want to move

If you want to stretch your legs, a good exercise is to lift your knee in front of your body, like this. Its a very simple exercise, but very effective.A: I need t
35、o exercise my arms too. How can I do that?B: One good way is to do push-ups. Another way is to use weights. Make sure you grip the weights firmly. 36、lbows that much. Bend them so that your arms are at a 90 degree angle. The most important thing is to remember to keep your body straight.
