The person most likely to be the murderer is the man of medium height.likely是形容詞,意思為“有可能的”,注意短語:be likely to, 此句中的 “most likely to be the murderer”做后置定語,可改為后置定語從句 “who is most likely to be the murderer”; “of medium height”介詞短語也做后置定語3. Last night, the body of a 22-year-old man was found in t

18、he doorway of a clothes shop in Valley Town.22-year-old連字符結(jié)構(gòu)構(gòu)成形容詞只可以做定語,不可以做表語,諸如:I am fifteen years old.I am a fifteen-year-old student.但絕對不可以說:I am fifteen-year-old.4. 20、一個真相/事實, find一般指找到具體的某樣?xùn)|西或某個人,look for強調(diào)找的動作,此句為查明受害者到底是在哪兒被殺的真相,文章第四段另外一句:We will work hard to find the murderer.此處find指“找到兇手”B. whether表示是否,等于if;但有些情況只可以用whether,諸如:a 當(dāng)把兩種選擇均明白提出, 而不省略其一時,通常用whether.如:他們還沒有決定他們是走還是留. They havent decided whether they will go or stay.b 當(dāng)與“or not”連用時如:告訴我你是否參加這個晚會. T

25、句中的謂語動詞用三單形式“l(fā)eads”lead to導(dǎo)致,leadledledarrest既可以用作動詞又可以用作名詞:be arrested=be under arrest8. Anyone with information should contact the police on 55501212.with information介詞短語作后置定語,with表示有,此處不可以用has,除非用后置定語從句anyone who has information; 或者anyone having information相同知識點:Ive seen a man with blood on his s

Detective Lu said that the victim was attacked with a knife and bled to death as a result.被兇器襲擊:be attacked with a knife/ gun被人襲擊:be attacked by sb.as a result, 表示“結(jié)果”, 一般用于句首或句尾;as a result of,表示“作為。的結(jié)果”,一

27、般用于句中:如:她起遲了, 結(jié)果她錯過了早般車.She got up late, and as a result she missed the early bus.由于交通堵塞, 他遲到了.He was late as a result of the traffic jam.10. The victim obviously put up a good fight.obviously副詞,等于”It is obvious that”, 例如:他顯然是被殺害的.It is obvious that he was killed.=Obviously, he was killed.很明顯他是在撒謊.I
