5、有可能性,但常常帶有“實(shí)際可能性很小的暗示。probable用來指有根據(jù),合情理,值得相信的事物,帶有“大概,很可能的意味。語氣比possible要重,是most likely之意。Its possible,though not probable that he will accept the terms.他有可能承受這些條件,但希望不大。be possible,be probable常用形式主語it,構(gòu)成句型為:It is possible/probable/likelythat.從句It is possiblefor sb.to do sth.sb.is likely to do sth.

11、表上看。 seem指從內(nèi)心里的“判斷。appear指給人以外表的印象。seem和appear后習(xí)慣接不定式to be;look后接to be常用于美國英語中,其意義相當(dāng)于seem to be,都是“看起來的意思。seem和look均可接as if引導(dǎo)的表語從句。seem需要用it作形式主語,而look的主語可以是形式主語it,也可以是其他的人稱代詞。appear那么不能。seem和appear可用于 “It seems/appears that.的句型構(gòu)造,而look那么不能。seem和appear可用于以there為引導(dǎo)詞的句型中,look那么不能。He looks like her fat

16、ut alone.天如此黑,我不敢單獨(dú)出去?!驹~語辨析】so.that/such.that.1so.that構(gòu)造中的so為副詞,后面跟形容詞或副詞;such.that中的such為形容詞,后接名詞;2當(dāng)that前的名詞有表示數(shù)量多少的many,much,few,little等修飾時(shí),只能用so,不能用such;3但假設(shè)名詞前的little意為“小的時(shí),那么仍用such,而不能用so;4當(dāng)that前是單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞且該名詞前有形容詞修飾時(shí),soadj.a/an可轉(zhuǎn)換為sucha/anadj.n.5當(dāng)that前是不可數(shù)名詞或復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞時(shí),那么必須用such;6soadj./adv.放到句首時(shí)要倒裝
