6、下為人類做貢獻、不追求享樂的高尚品質(zhì),以提高自身的素質(zhì)。Writing:人物描寫(|Description of a famous person)本單元的中心話題是偉人的品格、幾位偉人的生平,內(nèi)容涉及伊萊亞斯的故事,納爾遜曼德拉的生平簡介,威廉廷代爾的故事,比爾蓋茨明等,而主要內(nèi)容是圍繞當代英雄納爾遜曼德拉展開的。教材接窮苦的黑人工人伊萊亞斯的口吻,敘述發(fā)生在他身邊的納爾遜曼德拉的故事,這樣的寫法有別于慣常所采取的平鋪直敘,雖然只反映出曼德拉的一個側(cè)面,但讀起來卻更加的親切感人,引人入勝,還留給了學生更多的思考空間。伊萊亞斯的故事分成了三部分。第一部分是主課文,伊萊亞斯向我們介紹1952-19
7、63年期間的曼德拉;第二部分是聽力短文,伊萊亞斯講述了他為了爭取與白人平等的權利而參加了曼德拉的非洲國民大會青年聯(lián)盟;第三部分也是閱讀短文,伊萊亞斯講述了他在羅本島見于服刑期間得到了曼德拉的幫組,在非國大(ANC)掌權后,在曼德拉的安排下,伊萊亞斯又回到了羅本島見于擔任解說,向游客介紹羅本島的過去。Warming up部分: 列出了24的形容詞,要求學生從中選擇哪些可以用來描述偉人,引導學生思考偉人應該具有的品格,開展討論并列表說明。這樣的安排既突出了本單元的主題-為人的品格,又體現(xiàn)了本單元的功能項目-發(fā)表意見與評論。Pre-reading部分: 設計了討論題。著名的人物是否也是偉人呢?讓學生
8、結合書中所列出的古今中外的六位人物進行討論,發(fā)表意見。Reading部分:題為“伊萊亞斯的故事”由伊萊亞斯向我們敘述曼德拉的故事,時間是從1952年到1963年。伊萊亞斯初遇曼德拉時還是一個年僅12雖的黑人少年,正處于人生的一個非常困難時期,曼德拉開辦 了轉(zhuǎn)為黑人服務的律師事務所,幫助黑人解決困難。伊萊亞斯正式在曼德拉的幫助下獲得了在約翰內(nèi)斯堡工作的合法權利。在曼德拉的教育下,伊萊亞斯也體會到了人生的快樂和希望。曼德拉親切和藹的態(tài)度,寬容博大的胸懷讓他深深感動,永生難忘。因此,伊萊亞斯在第一時間加入了曼德拉領導的非洲人國民大會青年聯(lián)盟,聆聽曼德拉的講演,積極參加他組織的反政府活動,為爭取獲得黑
9、人與白人平等的權利而戰(zhàn)斗。Comprehending部分:設置了四個練習,主要用來幫助學生更好地理解閱讀課文的內(nèi)容。練習1要求學生依據(jù)課文內(nèi)容判斷練習所給句子的正誤,并說明理由。主要是檢查學生對課文中的某些細節(jié)內(nèi)容的理解情況。練習2要求學生根據(jù)課文內(nèi)容回答問題。練習3要求學生按照課文內(nèi)容列出伊萊亞斯的生活年表。練習4要求學生聽磁帶模仿讀音,注意長句朗讀是的聽讀現(xiàn)象,并對所列出的語句進行分析,在理解的基礎上用自己的話復述出來。 Learning about language部分:由詞匯學習和語法學習兩部分組成,分別對詞匯和語法進行練習。 Using language部分:讓學生運用本單元所學的語
