12、rtly by natural forces like earthquakes, and partly by man. Efforts to restore the Acropolis have started since 1835. In 1987, the monument received a World Heritage listing form UNESCO. After that, much progress was made in reconstructing the monument. It is hope that the Acropolis will be back to

13、its former glory. Yuanmingyuan in ChinaThe ruins of Yuanmingyuan are located in the suburbs of Beijing to the north-west of Qinghua University. Yuanmingyuan dates back to the Ming Dynasty. It has the reputation of being “the garden of gardens”. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in a fire. Our government has taken measures to repair it and much restoration work
