2、nner of Nobel Prize多麗絲萊辛1919年10月22日出生于伊朗,原姓泰勒。父母是英多麗絲萊辛多麗絲萊辛國(guó)人。在萊辛5歲的時(shí)候,她那向往田園生活的父親帶著妻兒移居到南羅德西亞(現(xiàn)津巴布韋),在一個(gè)農(nóng)場(chǎng)工作。然而農(nóng)場(chǎng)生活對(duì)于多麗絲的父親絕非天堂,不過(guò)卻是萊辛幻想的家園。年幼的多麗絲是一個(gè)神經(jīng)質(zhì)的女孩,在學(xué)校里,愛(ài)幻想的她盡了最大的努力才沒(méi)有白白浪費(fèi)更多的時(shí)間。16歲時(shí)她開(kāi)始工作,先后當(dāng)過(guò)電話(huà)接線(xiàn)員、保姆、速記員等等。她青年時(shí)期積極投身反對(duì)殖民主義的左翼政治運(yùn)動(dòng),曾一度參加共產(chǎn)黨。萊辛曾兩次結(jié)婚并離異,共有3個(gè)孩子。在非洲早年的艱苦生活中,十九世紀(jì)小說(shuō)大師如狄更斯、吉卜齡、史湯達(dá)爾

She was 87, making her the oldest winner of the literature prize at the t

She also stands as only the eleventh woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature by the Swedish Academy in its 106-year history. Lessing was out shopping for groceries when the announcement came, arriving home to tell repor

9、ters who had gathered there, Oh Christ!”. She told reporters outside her home Ive won all the prizes in Europe, every bloody one, so Im delighted to win them all. Its a royal flush.“ She titled her Nobel Lecture On Not Winning the Nobel Prize and used it to draw attention to global inequality of opp

10、ortunity, and to explore changing attitudes to storytelling and literature. The lecture was later published in a limited edition to raise money for children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. The Golden Notebook is the longest and the most ambitious work Doris Lessing has ever attempted to write. It is a

11、masterpiece in portraiture of the manners, aspirations, anxieties and the particular problems of the times in which we live. All four notebooks and the frame narrative testify to the above themes of Stalinism, the Cold War and the threat of nuclear conflagration, and womens struggles with the confli

12、cts of work, sex, love, maternity, and politics.The Golden Notebook The Golden Notebook is the story of writer Anna Wulf, the four notebooks in which she keeps the record of her life, and her attempt to tie them all together in a fifth, gold-colored notebook. black (of Annas experience in Central Af

13、rica, before and during WWII, which inspired her own bestselling novel), red (of her experience as a member of the Communist Party), yellow (an ongoing novel that is being written based on the painful ending of Annas own love affair), blue (Annas personal journal where she records her memories, drea

14、ms, and emotional life). Each notebook is returned to four times, interspersed with episodes from Free Women, creating non-chronological, overlapping sections that interact with one another. This post-modernistic styling, with its space and room for play engaging the characters and readers, is among
