tofpressureonstudentstobeaswell-roundedaspossible.Ithinkbeing

well-roundedisn'treallypossible.Andasaconsequence,somestudents

Ibelievetobeintelligentcan'tgetintogoodcollegesifthey,youknow,

haven'tscoredwellonthemathsection,eveniftheyarebrilliantwriters.

Anotherthingthatdisturbsmeisthattheso-calledweakstudentsares

eparated

fromtherestoftheschool.Somekidsarekeptinaseparateclassifthei

rgradesarelowerthanothers*.Andthey'reveryawareoftheirsocialpo

sition,youknow.Ithinkitcausesthemtoactinawaythatisnotreally

positive.They'rejustactinginawaytheyareexpected.Oftentheirgrad
