Doesitreallyenhancetheself-esteemofmembersofthefifth-gradebaseballteam—orimprovetheirathleticskill—wheneveryoneisawardedatrophy,despitethefactthattheteamdidnotshownoticeableimprovementthroughouttheseason?Whateffectwillthishaveonnextyear'seffortswhenthisrecordofperformanceendswithapparentapprovalandsatisfaction?Countlessstatisticsandsurveyshavehadaunanimous(一致的)result:nothingischanged,andthedaysgoonthesameasever.
