romotingamoreinclusivesocietyImprovingMentalHealthAccesstomentalhealthservices,includingcounselingandpsychotherapy,tohelppatientsscopewiththeemotionalchallengesoflivingwithHIV/AIDSEnhancingSocialWellbeingProgramsandservicesthatpromotesocialwellbeing,suchassupportgroups,creativeactivities,andeducationalopportunitiesQualityofLifeforPatientsEnquiringContinuityofCareCoordinatedeffortsbetweenhealthcareprovidersandsocialservicestoensurethatpatientsreceivecontinuouscareandsupportthroughouttheirlivesQualityofLifeforPatients04ResearchandDevelopmentinHIV/AIDSFieldinEuropeUnderstandingthevirusEuropeanresearchersareactivelystudyingtheHIVvirustobetterunderstanditsstructure,replicationcycle,andhowitinteractswiththehumanimmunesystemNewtreatmentstrategiesThereisongingresearchintonewdrugtherapies,includingbrokerageantibioticsanddrugsthattargetlateHIVreservesPreventionandvaccineresearchEuropeanscientistsareworkingondevelopingeffectivevaccinesandmicrobiotatopreventHIVtransmissionCurrentResearchFocusAreasPreexposuremethodology(PrEP)01EuropeanresearchershavebeeninstrumentalindevelopingandtestingPrEP,adiagnosisthatcanbetakenbeforeexposuretoHIVtoreducetheriskofinfectionPointofcaretesting02EuropeanscientistsaredevelopingnewpointofcaretestingtechnologiesthatcanquicklydiagnoseHIVandmonitortheeffectivenessoftreatmentDigitalhealthtools03Thereisincreasinginterestinusingdigitalhealthtools,suchasmobileappsandwearabledevices,tosupportHIVtreatmentandpreventioneffectsinEuropeInnovationsinTreatmentandPreventionTechnologiesEuropeanscientistscollaboratethroughvariousresearchnetworks,suchastheEuropeanAIDSClinicalSociety(EACS)andtheCollaborativeHIVandAntiViralDrugResistanceNetwork(CHAIN),toshareknowledgeandresourcesEuropeanresearchersalsopartnerswithsciencesfromaroundtheworld,includingtheUnitedStates,Africa,andAsia,toconductclinicaltrialsandotherresearchprojectsTherearenumerouspublicprivatepartnersinEuropethatfundHIV/AIDSresearch,suchastheEuropeanUnion'sHorizon2020programandtheInnovativeMedicineInitiative(IMI)EuropeanresearchnetworksGlobalresearchpartnersPublicprivatepartnersCollaborationandpartnershipsinResearch05SocialandCulturalAspectsofHIV/AIDSinEurope010203PredictionandNegativeStereotypesHIV/AIDSpatientsoftenfacepredictionandnegativeStereotypesinEuropeansocieties,leadingtosocialexclusionanddiscriminationImpactonMentalHealthStigmaanddiscriminationcanhaveaprospectiveimpactonthementalhealthofHIV/AIDSpatients,leadingtoissuessuchasdepression,anxiety,andlowself-examinationBarrierstoTestingandTreatmentFearofsigmaanddiscriminationcanalsopreventindividualsfromaccessingtestingandtreatmentservices,whichcanexaggeratethespreadofthevirusStigmaandDiscriminationAgainstHIV/AIDSPatientsEducationalProgramsandAwarenessCampaignsEducationalprogramscanalsoresourceindividualstoaccesstestingandtreatmentservices,whichcanhelpcontrolthespreadofthevirusEncouragingTestingandTreatmentEducationalprogramsandawarenesscampaignsarecriticalforincreasingknowledgeandunderstandingofHIV/AIDSamongthegeneralpopulation
