Asaderogationfromthatrule,someproductsincorporatingportablebatteriesmaybedesignedinsuchawayastomakethebatteryremovable/replaceableonlybyindependentprofessionals:

?(a)appliancesspecificallydesignedtooperateprimarilyinanenvironmentthatisregularlysubjecttosplashingwater,waterstreamsorwaterimmersion,andthatareintendedtobewashableorrinseable;

?(b)professionalmedicalimagingandradiotherapydevicesandinvitrodiagnosticmedicaldevices

TheCommissionisempoweredtoaddfurtherderogationstothatlistthroughdelegatedacts
