EspeciallyduringtheperiodfromSeptembertoNovemberof2003,Ireadmanybooksandjournalsinthefieldofmechanicalengineeringsuchas“HandbookofPracticalGearDesign”(Writtenby__).Inthesebooks,Ididintensivereadingonthetheoryofthespeedreducer.Iinvestigatedanddiscussedwithmyteacheronhowtoapplythetheoryintothepractice.Thenaccordingtomyteacher’sadvice,Itriedtoorganizeateamconsistingoffivememberstomakeaharmonicgearreducer.Asateamleader,Ishouldnotonlytakechargeofthewholearrangementofprojectbutalsomakeeverymemberoftheteamcooperatewitheachotherharmoniously.Beforestartingtheprogram,I,togetherwithmyteam,madeadetailedplancoveringtheschedule,materials,andequipment.Thefirststepofourworkisthedesignofthereducer.Thedesignplanisasfollows:(1)Setdowntheblueprint.(2)Complete3-DsolidmodelwithPro/Esoftware.(3)Finite-elementanalysiswithANSYSsoftware.(4)AssemblingsimulationbyusingPro/E.(5)Completethe2-Ddraftofpartandassembly.Aftertwo-weekdesignwork,westeppedtothenextwork,manufactureoftheproduct.Withtheaidofthetechniqueofcomputer,weplanthemanufacturingprocessofeverypart.Andthen,allpartsweremadewithvariousmachinetoolssuchasCNClathe,wireelectricaldischargemachine,verticalmachiningcenter,andsoon.Finally,wehadtoassemblyallpartstotheharmonicgearreducer,andtest-droveitformanytimes.Withfive-weekunremittingefforts,wesucceededintheprojectofharmonicgearreducerandobtainedthehighestpraise.Thisspecialexperiencemakesitveryhelpfulformyfurtherstudy.Firstly,Ifindtheconnectionbetweentheoryandpractice.Textbookscouldhardlycovereverything,therefore,ifwewanttolearnmore,weshouldpursueeveryopportunitytohavepractices.Meanwhile,Iexperiencedtheimportanceandmightinessofcooperation.Intheproject,wedividedourselvesintoseveralparts,notonlydoingone’sownworkwell,butalsocooperatingwitheachotherharmoniously.
Anothercaseworthymentioningismydesignprojectforgraduation,“ManufacturingandPerformanceofElectroplatedCBNTools”.ThemainobjectiveofthisprojectisthemanufacturingoftheelectroplatedCBN(CubicBoronNitride)wheelsandtheresearchofitsperformancewhengrindingtheheat-resistedsteel.Ihadcompletedthreestepsoftask.Firstly,ItookchargeofthemanufacturingofelectroplatedCBNwheels,coveringthefollowingwork:selectingelectroplatingsolution,computingvariouselectroplatingparameterssuchaselectricalcurrentandtemperature,adheringCBNtothetoolbasebyelectroplatinganickellayer.Afterthesebasicpreparations,IhadtodothesecondpartoftheresearchworktocomparegrindingabilitiesofelectroplatedCBNwheelswiththoseofotherwheelssuchasSiCwheels,Al2O3wheelsetc.Thispartoftheworkneedstheresearcher’shighlyparticularityandstaidness.Ididthedetailedworkasfollows:(1)Grindheat-resistedsteelwithvariouswheelsinthesamegrindingconditions.(2)Recorddataandcomputethegrindingratioofvariouswheels.(3)Measurethesurfaceroughnessoftheheat-resistedsteelgroundbyvariouswheels.(4)Observedullingandpulloutofabrasivegrainsofvariouswheelsbyusingopticalmicroscope.Inthispart,wecanconcludethatelectroplatedwheelshavefarbettergrindingabilitiesthanotherwheels,bycomparingparameters,suchasgrindingratio,surfaceroughnessetc.Thefinalassignmentoftheprojectistofindoutthemostsuitableparametersofgrindingheat-resistedsteelwithelectroplatedCBNwheels,throughcomparingthegrindingratioandsurfaceroughnessofheat-resistedsteelgroundindifferentgrindingparameters.ByinvestigatingtheattributesofelectroplatedCBNwheelsandconcludingtheirpracticalgrindingparameters,thisprojectisveryimportantinpromotingtheapplicationofthem.
China’suniqueadvantageoflaborforcepredictstheresplendentfutureofitsMechanicalEngineering,especiallythemanufacture,anditisourbeliefthatthisdaywillcomesoon.Ontheotherhand,therearesomanyexperiencedtechniciansinChina,however,withtheabsenceofadvancedexpertsmanyadvancedproducingmethodcannotbeusedinpracticalyield.WhenIworkedasinterninsomefactories,IfoundthatmostofthemwerestillusingfacilitieswhichwereusedinAmericaaboutthirtyyearsago.ThereforeIwanttousetheadvanced
