PAGEPAGEPAGE4《國(guó)際商務(wù)英語(yǔ)》教學(xué)大綱InternationalBusinessEnglish一、課程基本信息課程編號(hào):241221適用專業(yè):國(guó)際經(jīng)濟(jì)與貿(mào)易課程性質(zhì):專業(yè)必修開課單位:經(jīng)貿(mào)學(xué)院學(xué)時(shí):40學(xué)分:2.5考核方式:考試(平時(shí)成績(jī)占總成績(jī)的30%)中文簡(jiǎn)介:國(guó)際貿(mào)易英語(yǔ)是伴隨國(guó)際貿(mào)易課程在我國(guó)高等院校的普及,為了進(jìn)一步提高國(guó)貿(mào)學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)水平,了解與之相關(guān)的國(guó)際商務(wù)英語(yǔ)知識(shí)而開設(shè)的。隨著我國(guó)加入WTO,我國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)與世界經(jīng)濟(jì)的聯(lián)系越來(lái)越密切,國(guó)際商務(wù)已成為日常生活中最熱門的詞匯之一,由此也需要越來(lái)越多的國(guó)際商務(wù)人才。隨之也產(chǎn)生了一個(gè)迫切需要解決的問(wèn)題,國(guó)際商務(wù)的專業(yè)英語(yǔ)水平急需提高。隨著我國(guó)改革開放的不斷深入發(fā)展,我國(guó)與國(guó)外的經(jīng)濟(jì)交往日漸頻繁。國(guó)際商務(wù)業(yè)務(wù)人員不僅要掌握業(yè)務(wù)知識(shí),還要能用外語(yǔ)同外商交流。而與普通日常英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)不同的是,國(guó)際商務(wù)英語(yǔ)專業(yè)性較強(qiáng),需要作為專業(yè)的課程來(lái)開設(shè)。為此我們系統(tǒng)地、逐步深入地開設(shè)了《國(guó)際商務(wù)英語(yǔ)》、《國(guó)貿(mào)英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)》、《國(guó)貿(mào)英語(yǔ)聽力》,而本門課程《國(guó)際貿(mào)易英語(yǔ)》正是在此基礎(chǔ)上而開設(shè)的。為了進(jìn)一步地培養(yǎng)學(xué)生在國(guó)際商務(wù)種實(shí)際和研究工作中運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)的能力,為了讓學(xué)生更多地了解跨文化交際地重要性,課程通過(guò)大量閱讀相關(guān)商務(wù)英語(yǔ)的材料,內(nèi)容包括經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化、文化與國(guó)際貿(mào)易、政策與法律、國(guó)際市場(chǎng)進(jìn)入等領(lǐng)域,擴(kuò)大學(xué)生的知識(shí)面,加深學(xué)生對(duì)跨文化交流的理解,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對(duì)跨文化交流的了解和熟悉程度,提高學(xué)生在商務(wù)領(lǐng)域里運(yùn)用熟練運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言技能的能力。教學(xué)目的與要求LessonOneanintroductiontointernationaltradeSomecountriesaredeficientincriticalrawmaterials,suchaslumberoroil.tomakeupforthesevariousdeficiencies,countrieshavetoengageininternationaltradetoobtaintheresourcesnecessarytoproducethegoodsdesiredbytheircitizens.Inadditiontotradingforrawmaterials,countriesalsoexchangeawidevarietyofprocessedfoodsandfinishedproducts.LessonTwocultureandinternationaltradeSomecountriesaredeficientincriticalrawmaterials,suchaslumberoroil.tomakeupforthesevariousdeficienciescountrieshavetoengageininternationaltradetoobtaintheresourcesnecessarytoproducethegoodsdesiredbytheircitizens.Inadditiontotradingforrawmaterials,countriesalsoexchangeawidevarietyofprocessedfoodsandfinishedproducts.LessonThreeEconomicGlobalizationEconomicglobalizationisverymuchinthenewstoday.Numerouscompanieshaveengagedaggressivelyininternationalization,propelledbytheconvictionthatthisisanirreversiblemarkettrend.Economicglobalizationnormallymeansadecouplingofspaceantime,emphasizingthatwithinstantaneouscommunication,knowledgeandculturecanbesharedaroundtheworldsimultaneously.Whatkindsofcharactersdoyouthinkaqualifiedinternationaltrademustpossess?LessonFourcultureadaptationininternationaltradeCultureconflictshappenbetweenthemultinationalcompanyandthehostcountry.Theinternationalmanagersmustfaceanewcultureroundthem.Certainly,acompanywillseektoworkwithinexistinglocalculturepatterns,althoughthismaynotalwaysbepossible.MNCsmayhaveanumberoffreshsubsidiariesinforeigncountries.Theyneedtointroduceworkingmethodsthatmightdecreaseconflictinthehostcountries.Hoedosecultureinfluencebusinessbehaviors?Howtodealwiththecultureininternationalbusiness?LessonFivemanchesterismVS.protectionismThecontroversybetweenmanchesterismandprotectionismhasbeenacontinuingissueinmostcountries’tradepolicy.ItseemsthatProtectionismiscondemnedseverelywhilefrequentlyappliedbysomecountries.Maybe,itisdifficulttosaywhichpolicyisbetter.Nationschoosetradepolicyaccordingtotheirnationalinterest,notthetermofManchesterismorProtectionism.TradeprotectionismincreasingthetransactioncostoftheglobalmarketLessonSixEconomicintegrationWhyhadGATT/WTOmultilateraltalksbeensosuccessfulatliberalizingtheindustrialtariffsofindustrializednations?Anytypeofarrangementinwhichcountriesagreetocoordinatetheirtrade,fiscal,and/ormonetarypoliciesisreferredtoaseconomicintegration.Obviously,therearemanydifferentdegreesofintegration.Thestudentsshouldunderstand:(1)thepreferentialtariffarrangement,(2)thefreetradearea,(3)thecustomsunion,(4)thecommonmarket,(5)theeconomicunion,(6)staticeffects。LessonSevenforeigndirectinvestmentInfinanceandbusiness,aninvestmentisanassetpurchasedforprofit,whetherviaincome,orcapitalappreciation,orsomecombination.Theentitymakingtheinvestmentisaninvestor.Theoppositeofmakinganinvestment,orsellingtheasset,isdivestment.Basedprimarilyontherelationshipbetweenthepartiesandsecondlyonthenatureoftheinstrumentinvolved,investmentisdistinguishedasthreecategoriesincludingdirectinvestment,Portfolioinvestmentandotherinvestment.三、教學(xué)方法與手段采取精講多練,即教師精講各種實(shí)用表達(dá)語(yǔ)及基本表達(dá)句子,通過(guò)師生問(wèn)答、討論,讓學(xué)生多練習(xí)。要求學(xué)生通過(guò)大量的閱讀能在較短的時(shí)間流利地表達(dá)自己的思想,并掌握必要的書寫技能,對(duì)國(guó)際商務(wù)、對(duì)外貿(mào)易等方面的具有英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力的提高與發(fā)展,而且更能提高學(xué)生全面的文化素養(yǎng),增加對(duì)文化差異性的了解,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生尊重不同文化傳統(tǒng)的習(xí)慣。四、教學(xué)內(nèi)容及目標(biāo)教學(xué)內(nèi)容教學(xué)目標(biāo)學(xué)時(shí)分配LessonOneanintroductiontointernationaltrade61Tolearnthedefinitionoftrade掌握32.Tounderstandthebasicconceptsininternationaltrade掌握3重點(diǎn)與難點(diǎn):Whydomoderncountriestradewithoneanother?Therearenumerousreasonsthatcountriesengageininternationaltrade.衡量學(xué)習(xí)是否達(dá)到目標(biāo)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn):通過(guò)課堂提問(wèn)及課后習(xí)題的
