powerthroughdecarbonisationtechnologies,includingCCUS,co-firingwithbiomass,andIGCC.Theimportanceofadvancedcoaltechnologies,suchas

SupercriticalandUltra-Supercriticalcoal-firedplants,wasalsoemphasisedtoenhanceefficiencyandreduceenvironmentalimpact.

TheASEANCCSDeploymentFrameworkandRoadmapreporthighlighttheurgentneedforstrongerpolicyandregulatoryframeworkstoattract

investmentsandmitigaterisksrelatedtoCCUS.Tofacilitatethis,anASEAN

CCUSWorkingGroupwillbeestablishedtoenhancecross-sectoral

collaboration,promoteknowledgeexchange,andsupportcross-borderCCUSprojectsamongmemberstates.

TheforumhighlightedongoingCCUSprojectsinAsia,particularlyinoilandgasproductioncountrieslikeIndonesiaandMalaysia,wheretechniques

suchasEnhancedOilRecovery(EOR)andEnhancedGasRecovery(EGR)arebeingimplementedbyinternationaloilcompanieslikeBPandnationaloilcompaniessuchasPERTAMINA,oftenwithsupportfromdeveloped

nations'specialisedorganisationsinCCUS.

However,despitetheseadvancements,actualCCSprojectsaimedat

storingCO2insalineaquifersremainlargelyinthedemonstrationstage,primarilyreliantongovernmentalsupporttoprogressbeyondinitial

phases.
