1、An alyze “ A Good Man Is Hard To FindIn differe neeThe fietion “A Good Man Is Hard To Find ” tragic story. The family planned to go to Florida on holiday, but after knowing The Misfit headed toward Florida, the grandmother insisted on going to east Tennessee.On the way, the grandmother wan ted to go

2、 to a pla ntati on where she ofte n visited in the young. Therefore she persuaded other family members to drive to there. Unfortun ately, they had an aeeide nt because of the dirt road. They requested three people who passed by in there to help them. However the grandmother reeognized them, and thes

3、e people just were The Misfit. Fin ally the family members were killed by The Misfit. After readi ng this, the tragedy that the family members were killed can let you reeall the title of the fietion. Maybe you can ask that why these good people eould meet the bad people? However, my understanding is

4、 not like this. In my opinion, nearly all the people in the fietion cannot be eonsidered as good man. They were hypocritical and selfish, and they only paid attention to their own right and feeling. The title reflects a fact that a world that a good people is hard to find is filled with indifferenee

5、. Certainly, in a selfish and hypocritical world, a good man is hard to find. Thus, I think that the topic of the fietion reflects indifferenee. Next, I will discuss the indifferenee in the story.Family indiffereneeThe gran dmother seemed to believe in God, and she also liked a devout Christia n.How

6、ever, in my opinion, she was good at disguise because she was hypocritical, vain glorious, and selfish. In the begi nning of the story, the gran dmother tried topersuade her son Bailey not to take a holiday in Florida, and she only wan ted to visitsome of her connections in east Tennessee. She said:

7、“I wouldn t take my children iany direct ion with a crim in al like that aloose in it” (paragraph because the persocalled The Misfit headed toward Florida. She used the reason only to satisfy herin dividual purpose. Thus, this showed that she was selfish. However,“ Bailey did nlook up from his readi

8、ng ” (paragraph2). This showed that Bailey did not respect and love his mother. The relationship between them was indifferent, and they lacked com muni cate with each other. She was not successful able to persuade her son, andshe tried to seek help form Bailey s wife. But,“ The children s mother did

9、n hear her ” (paragraph3). The twildren, John Wesley and June Star did not respecttheir grandmother, and they satirized the grandmother:“If you don t want to go toFlorida, why dontcha stay at home?” (Paragraph way to east Tennessee, thegran dmother on ly wan ted to go to a pla ntati on where she oft

10、e n visited in the young.Therefore she persuaded other family members to drive to there eve n if she ignored afact that the dirt road was hard to drive. I think the description shows that thegran dmother is extreme shellfish. Whe n they had an accide nt, the two childre n couldnot care for their rel

11、ative s safety. On the oppositi on, they were extreme disappo in tedbecause nobody was killed. You know, they face with their relative. Reading to this,the scene makes me very surprise. I think that these details can highlight therelatio nship among the family members is extreme not harm onio us, an

12、d these plots also reflect the in differe nee.Thus, from my perspective, the relationship among the family members was extreme in differe nt. Faced with The Misfit fellow, the gran dmother only con sideredher own safe:“You wouldn t shoot a lady, would yoragraph 86).( She did notconsider her children

13、 safety, and she complimented The Misfit people again andaga in. This showed that the gran dmother was selfish. n my op inion, the family lacks love and com muni cati on, which led to the in differe nee.Whe n the family members had an accide nt, the gran dmother said:“I believe I haveinjured an orga

14、n.” (Paragraph69). But nobody restooheheddowever, as thety was n otscaeed for by heroldest member in the family, the gran dmother childre n. This plot also shows that the family members are in differe nt and selfish.Whe n the gran dmother recog ni zed The Misfit,“ Bailey tur ned his head sharply and

15、said someth ing to his mother that shocked eve n the childre n.ThParagraph84).old lady bega n to cry and The Misfit redde ned” (Paragraph84). Obviously, Baileyattitude was very rude and indifferent.In my opinion, Bailey s action was notaccidental, and it was formed by family environment. From the de

16、scription, we cannot image the degree of indifference in the family, and The Misfit also reddens about it.Bailey was the grandmother s son. He did not care for anything happened around him, and anything in his eye were not importa nt. On the way, he still drove the vehicle, and the family members n

17、early had not any com muni cati on. Eve n if after the accide nt,except an ger Bailey had not any words. Whe n his mother tried to persuade him todrive to east Tennessee, he even if ignored his mother. From Bailey s characteristialso reflects a fact that in the in differe nt society, the relati on s

18、hip among familymembers is also in differe nt.In my opinion, the author described the indifferenee in the family, and the problemcannot only existed in a particular family. The family may stand for the temporalsociety. This may be a social problem, and n ext I will discuss this aspect.Social in diff

19、ere neeIn the fiction, the problem of indifference also present in a widely aspect that issociety. Social in differe nce makes people and people lack the com muni catio n and emotion. Few people can consideother people s right and feeling, and nearly all people live in their own world.Whe n the gran

20、 dmother saw a black boy who did not have any britches on, shelaughed at him:“ Little niggers in the country don t have things like we do.”(Paragraph 20). From my perspective, the grandmother did not consider his feeling,and she did not realize the pain in black people. This also reflected discrim i

21、n ati on and in differe nce.The con versati on betwee n the gran dmother and Red Sammy also showedin differe nce:“ People are certa inly not nice like they used to be.It ” (Paragraph35seemed that they both expressed a fact that good man was not to find. However, their conv ersatio n lacked emoti on,

22、 and is not sin cere. This also shows that the problem ofindifference still exist in society.In the paragraph 117, The Misfit also said that he was treated unjustly. From hiswords, the words are filled with sincerity, it is convincing. This makes me to think that his evil may be promoted by the un fair
