1、Teaching Plan. Analysis of the teaching materials The teaching content is based on Unit 3 My Friends of PEP English textbook for Grade 4 in primary school. The topic is about how to describe ones friends appearance and hobbies. Its close to the students daily life. And this is the first period of th
2、e unit. . Analysis of the students 1. The students of Grade 4 in primary school are around 9 to 11. They are lively, lovely and active, but can not concentrate on learning in class for a long time. Therefore, there should be more interesting activities in the teaching, making them learn through play
3、ing. 2. Most of them are interested in learning English, but due to the lack of vocabulary and oral practice, they can not express themselves in English clearly and exactly.Teaching aims1. Knowledge and Skills. Students can speak, know the meaning of the words and use the new words: big, small, stro
4、ng, hair, curly, reading, friend, tall, short, blue, black, best, mouth, basketball and long . Students can use some adjective words and some simple sentences to describe their friends features, e.g. She is tall. She has long hair. Students can say his/her or friends hobbies, e.g. I like reading. He
5、 likes basketball. 2. Process and Methods Guided by the teacher, students learn the new words and expressions.Through games, students learn and master new knowledge in a happy way. Through individual work, group-work, students experience the learning process, from the terms of individual study and c
6、ooperative study. The teaching methods: the Grammar Translation Teaching Method, Task-based Teaching method. 3. Emotion and Attitude At the end of the class, students are supposed to Know each other better, strengthening and treasuring their friendship Establish a cooperative and friendly relationsh
7、ip through group workRealize that they should pay more attention to the others around them. Students can be more familiar with the use of the new words and sentence patterns 10Step 3Games(1)Relay race Divide the whole class into two groups averagely and show the Chinese meaning of the words learned on the PPT in the former st
13、ep one by one As a judge and time recorder in the process, seeing which group says out all the words more quick, which will be the winnerSs pass an empty bottle, meanwhile, say the English words according to the Chinese one by one. If one student dont know the words or does wrong, it can pass the bo
14、ttle to the next, who is required to say the word out, until the word is said correctly Liven up the atmosphere. Test the students mastery of the new words, test their ability of quick action cultivate their ability of quick reaction and teamwork ability 3(2)Find your “enemies” Give each student a c
