(其中it作形式主語）be worthy 的搭配習(xí)慣的搭配習(xí)慣 1） be worthy 后不能不能直接跟名詞、代詞或動名詞，若要接，應(yīng)借助介詞 of 。如： Their effo

We will provide apples for the guests.quite 語氣稍重，意為“頗”或“相當(dāng)”。要是說某一部電影quite good，那是說這部電影相當(dāng)不錯，雖不是最好，但至少值得看。rather 或或 pretty 在語氣上又稍重一點(diǎn),意為“十分”或“相當(dāng)” (pretty 不如 rather 正式)。 兩者均可與褒義或貶義形容詞連用。與褒義詞連用，表示一種愉快的心情，與貶義

11、(包括不褒不貶)詞連用，表示一種不贊成或不滿意的心情。如： a rather pretty good play 相當(dāng)好的戲 rather pretty poor work 相當(dāng)差的工作very 語氣最強(qiáng)，意為“很”或“非?！?。這些詞語氣的輕重可大致描述為：(not) fairly quite rather / pretty very區(qū)別quite、rather、veryrather 和和 quite 有時(shí)可直接修飾動詞, 而其他幾個副詞一般不這樣用。如： I quite agree with you. 我完全同意你 (的意見)。 We rather like the book. 我們很喜歡這本

12、書rather, quite 與“冠詞形容詞名詞”連用時(shí), 通常置于冠詞之前，有時(shí)也可放在冠詞之后。但遇此類似情況，very 或 fairly 則只能放在冠詞之后(形容詞之前)。如： Its quite rather a good idea. Its a quite rather good idea. 1.以上各詞中，只有 rather 可以與比較級以及副詞 too (太) 連用。如：1). Its rather colder today. 今天冷多了。2). This one is rather too large. 這個稍大了一點(diǎn)。2. 通常只用 quite修飾不可分級的形容詞(如：rig

13、ht, wrong, ready, full, empty, perfect, impossible, alone, unique 等，此時(shí)quite 并不表示“相當(dāng)”或“很”，而表示“完全”。如：1).Youre quite right (wrong). 你完全正確(錯了)。2).Thats quite impossible. 那完全不可能。許多的表達(dá)歸納1）a (large) number of / (large) numbers of + 可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù) 2）a good/great many + 可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù) 3）many a + 可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)，謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。 4）修飾不可數(shù)修飾不
