Opinion writing includes the review, the column, the editorial and letters to the editor.Reviews Revie

7、ws are descriptions of books and articles, dramatic performances, concerts and other musical performances, films, radio and television programs, lectures, and art, such as painting, dance, and sculpture. The reviewer, using his or her thorough understanding of the field, measures the success and fai

8、lure of the work or performance.Columns Columns also express opinions. Writers are sometimes famous and influential, so their columns are often headed by their own pictures. Each columnist has his own style. To really appreciate a column you should read it often and try to understand the basic attit

9、udes of the writer. Unlike a news writer, a columnist does not have to present the facts in a balanced or objective way.EditorialsThe purpose of most editorials is to convince, whether or not the writer hopes to stir his readers to immediate action. From his purpose arise three “types” of editorials
