2、eaching materialStatus and functions.The main topic of unit 7 is “the weather”and Whats happening? In this Unit, the students will learn to talk about different kinds of weather. This is a topic that is related to their daily life, so it can raise their learning interests and it will be also helpful

3、 to improve their spoken English.2. The teaching aims of this lessonA.: Knowledge objectsTo learn the target words raining, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowing in this lesson. The target sentence construction in this lesson is: How is the weather?/ Whats the weather like? Its.B.: Ability objects:(1) To de

4、velop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. (2) To train the Ss abilities of working in pairs. (3) To develop the Ss abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.C.:Emotion objects:To train the students to love nature, and develop their good friendship. 3. Dif

Teaching aids: Multi-media computer, Tape recorder and BlackboardPart two: Analysis of the students The students have learned English for about one semester so far. They can understand s

6、ome words and some simple sentences. But most of them dont often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. Some of them are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes. In order to promote their interests, every class is a competition. All the students are

7、 divided into group of six, and each group has a leader. Part three: The teaching methodsSituation teaching method, “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method, “Task-based” teaching method and Pair work.Part four: Learning methods:I request the students to study English independ

8、ently cooperatively and investigative. Each unit in Go for it contains pair work, group work and games. The students who sit at the same table and groups can make a discussion and learn from each other. It makes each student relaxed. They neednt worry about making mistakes. It can help students to t

9、hink and to say what they want to say. Study becomes more relaxed and pleased in this kind of environment.Part five: The teaching proceduresStep 1 Review and warm-up(3 min)Purpose: To form a better surrounding for the students by speaking and doing some physical response and at the same time it prov

10、ides situations to review learnt knowledge for the next step. 1. Free talk between T and Ss about last unit.2. Review the present continuous tense by software.I will make a conversation with the students. I ask, students answer. The question is:“ What is he doing?” Students answer :“ He is cooking.”

11、 The second picture, “ What is she doing?” “She is dancing.”The third picture, “What are they doing?” “They are flying kites.” And then I will let the students ask and answer in pairs using the target sentences “What is he doing?” “What is she doing?”“What are they doing?”. Make sure the students as

12、k and answer correctly. They can use the words: watch TV、sleep、study、play the violin、play computer games、swim、 eat dinner and play basketball.Step 2. Presentation (10 min)The purpose is to present the key words one by one. It is much easier for the students to learn and grasp the meaning. CAI provid

13、es a real situation for students to understand the conversation better.1. The teacher show the students some pictures of the new words, then teach the new words. And lead in the sentence pattern.2. Learn the weather signs. Show students the signs of weather, and let student use the new words to desc
