Developdynamicalsystemtheorythataremoreapplicabletocertainbiologicalandphysicalproblems.Toconductacross-disciplinaryresearchonMathematicalBiologyandBiologicalPhysics,withexpertiseinmathematicalanalysis,nonlineardynamicsandscientificcomputations.Weareespeciallyinterestedinmathematicalmodelsontumorgrowth,cellmotility,biologicalmotors,andprotein‐protein

interactionnetwork.TheoryonNonlinearDynamicsisthemainmethodologyintheseinvestigations,althoughtheconsideredproblemsseemdiversified.

MathematicalModelingandScientificComputationsTheNCTU-AMdepartmentisplanningtoestablishTheGraduateInstituteof

MathematicalModelingandScientificComputations

(Pre-approvedbytheCollegeofScience)Thepresentprojectaimstoignitetheresearchcollaborationsalongthelineofmodelingandcomputationsamongvariousdisciplines,startingfromthepointofNonlinearDynamics.ResearchProjectsMoreprecisely,ourfirstprojectistoapplyourtechniquesindiscrete-diffusionequations[PhysicaD2005]tothefollowingmodelsgovernedbyreaction-diffusionequations.(i)Spatio-temporalpatternformationonsolidtumorgrowthmodels(ii)Cellmotilitymodelsdescribingcellcrawling.OtherprojectsincludeRatchetmodelsusingdrivingforcesgeneratedbydeterministicchaoticmaps,spatialandtemporalsymmetrybreakingwhichinducesdirectedtransport,ratchetmechanismonbiologicalmotors,dynamicsonscalefreenetworks,etc.OurresearchCompletestability,multistability,inrecurrentneuralnetworksChaoticdynamics–applicationtoglobalsearchingabilityofcombinatorialoptimizationproblemsPatternformationsindiscretediffusionsystemsRatchetmodelsusingdrivingforcesgeneratedbydeterministicchaoticmapsStochasticresonanceinabiologicalmotorundercomplexfluctuation
