mentalhealth”.Butanewstudysaystimeinfrontofcomputersandphonesmightnotbeasbadforyoungpeopleasmanythink.ResearchbytheOxfordInternetInstituteexamineddatafrommorethan17,000teenagersintheUK,IrelandandtheUnitedStates.Theirstudyconcludedthatmostlinksbetween
lifesatisfaction
andsocialmediausewere"trivial",accountingforlessthan1%ofateenager's
wellbeing.ProfessorPrzybylski,directorofresearchattheinstitute,said:"99.75%ofaperson'slifesatisfactionhasnothingtodowiththeiruseofsocialmedia."Theresearchfoundthatfamily,friendsandschoollifeallhadagreaterimpactonwellbeing.So,doesthismeanyoungpeoplecanspendlongerlookingatsocialmedia?TheOxfordresearchersareconfidentthattheirstudyisrobustinitsfindingsandthatanycorrelationbetweenscreentimeandmentalhealthisverysmall.DrMaxDavie,officerforhealthimprovementattheRoyalCollegeof
