Surfaceengineeringtechnologyplaysasignificantroleinimprovingtheperformanceofbearings.Inthepastfewdecades,varioussurfaceengineeringtechniqueshavebeendeveloped,includingphysicalandchemicalsurfacetreatments,coatings,andsurfacemodificationtechniques.Thesetechniqueshavebeenappliedtobearingstoimprovetheirresistancetowear,corrosion,andfatigue,andtoenhancetheirlubricationproperties.Thispaperreviewstherecentadvancesinsurfaceengineeringtechnologyandtheirapplicationinbearings.Theresultsdemonstratethatsurfaceengineeringtechnologyhasgreatlyimprovedthefunctionalityandlifespanofbearings,makingthemmoredurableandefficient.
