如何做學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告?做國際學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議報(bào)告的幾點(diǎn)技巧(tips)?馮兆東(2019-08-03)?一、我自己的一個(gè)沉痛的教訓(xùn)?記得那是1988年,我在美國地質(zhì)學(xué)年會(huì)的一個(gè)分會(huì)上做了一個(gè)口頭報(bào)告,那是我的第一個(gè)英文口頭報(bào)告。

由于我的報(bào)告科學(xué)質(zhì)量低、由于透明膠片復(fù)印質(zhì)量和文字質(zhì)量低、由于準(zhǔn)備不充分和表達(dá)極不通暢,報(bào)告效果極差。

報(bào)告前,我的導(dǎo)師坐在我旁邊為我鼓勁。

但當(dāng)我講完后,他卻悄悄地溜了(顯然,他是被我臊著的了)。

更嚴(yán)重的是:

到了四年之后的1992年,我向美國自然科學(xué)基金會(huì)(NSF)提交了一個(gè)基金申請,一位評審在他的審稿意見中寫道在:

我在1988年聽過申請者(Feng)的一個(gè)報(bào)告,那是一個(gè)毫無意義的和浪費(fèi)聽眾時(shí)間的糟糕報(bào)告。

很顯然,我的輕率報(bào)告當(dāng)時(shí)讓我在同行面前失去了信譽(yù)(credibility),我為此付出了沉重代價(jià)。

?二、學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告的目的是學(xué)術(shù)交流?1988年的我只想著:

我報(bào)告了,我露臉了,我的簡歷上有新內(nèi)容了。

后來,我發(fā)現(xiàn)有不少年輕人正在犯著我當(dāng)年的錯(cuò)誤:

為了報(bào)告而報(bào)告,為了在簡歷上添加新內(nèi)容而報(bào)告。

我有充分的經(jīng)驗(yàn)和經(jīng)歷讓我有信心地說:

雖然一個(gè)報(bào)告只有20分鐘左右,但報(bào)告的目的只有一個(gè)(是的,只有一個(gè)):

講述一個(gè)道理或論證一個(gè)事實(shí)。

而且,你得讓您的聽眾聽懂,最好是100%地聽懂。

?2-1.報(bào)告的準(zhǔn)備?即使你的英文比較好,你的報(bào)告是需要用認(rèn)真的態(tài)度和用專業(yè)的水準(zhǔn)去準(zhǔn)備的。

你得用能給大同行講懂的語言(大同行:

對您講的內(nèi)容的基本背景有大致的了解和理解)去組織你的科學(xué):

邏輯和語言邏輯。

科學(xué)邏輯指的是科學(xué)研究的四股:

(1)Whydidyoudothis?(2)Howdidyoudoit?(3)Whataretheresults?(4)Whatisyourinterpretation?:

語言邏輯指的是:

(1)complete(完整),(2)concise(簡明扼要),(3)coherent(連貫的、合乎邏輯的)。

特別需要強(qiáng)調(diào)的是:

coherent(連貫的、合乎邏輯的)最為重要,它意味著句子中指-代關(guān)系是清晰的,邏輯是平穩(wěn)的。

記著:

短短20分鐘的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告是容不得邏輯跳躍或邏輯斷層的。

?2-2.圖文并茂與口頭表達(dá)?Needlesstosay(不用說),將您的報(bào)告內(nèi)容用最簡明和引人入勝的辦法表達(dá)出來(PPT:

幻燈片)是需要技術(shù)和技巧的。

實(shí)際上,制作的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告的PPT的技巧幾乎是無窮的。

每次參加會(huì)議,我發(fā)現(xiàn)總有人(那些熟悉制作技術(shù)的人、那些能將復(fù)雜科學(xué)問題簡化的人、那些肯花時(shí)間去制作PPT的人)能用做PPT的方?法使他(她)的報(bào)告效果達(dá)到最佳。

PPT做好了之后,還有一件事也是同等重要的:

PPT(幻燈片)上的文字與您口頭語言之間的協(xié)調(diào)和平衡。

假定您的英文是沒有太大問題的,您必須關(guān)注的是:

不要讓PPT上的文字太多而使您的口頭表達(dá)變得毫無意義或/和沒人理會(huì)。

總之,PPT圖表、PPT上的文字輔助說明、您的口頭表達(dá)三者要到到各司其職,以達(dá)到最佳的被聽懂和讓聽眾跟著您的思路走的效果。

?2-3.英文不足夠好怎么辦??不要緊的。

最近我在日本參加一個(gè)國際會(huì)議時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn),那些英語了并不好的日本人做的還行。

第一,他們盡心盡力地準(zhǔn)備好了PPT(圖文并茂,內(nèi)容深度和多寡都把握得比較好)。

第二,他們(日本人)都用事先寫好的稿子來報(bào)告(而不是隨興語言),而且他們大多都能做到英文發(fā)音比較準(zhǔn)確(我懷疑:

有人在報(bào)告前好好地和狠狠地練過發(fā)音的)。

這就確保了他們的報(bào)告內(nèi)容能夠被理解。

第三,他們(日本人)也時(shí)常聽不懂聽眾的提問(多由于他們自己的英文不足夠好,也有由于提問者的英文口音偏重的情形),但他們會(huì)很坦然的請求在場的英文比較好的日本同行替他們翻譯。

?2-4.怎么應(yīng)對學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告后的提問??記著,學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告的目的是學(xué)術(shù)交流。

學(xué)術(shù)交流意味著雙向的思想碰撞和流通。

參加一次學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議,特別是比較昂貴和費(fèi)事的國際學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議,您總是有兩大任務(wù)的:

(1)向同行展示您的成果,(2)向同行學(xué)習(xí)他們的成果。

進(jìn)而,您的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告本身也有兩大任務(wù):
