filmis.Sinceatypicalfilmisonlyaroundtwohourslong,it
becomesaquestionofwhattoleaveout,andhowtoscriptthe
dialogue.Sometimestheremaybechangestotheplot,additions

mayevenbethescreenwriters.Thiscanactuallybeabadthing
becausetheymaybetooclosetothematerialandfindit
difficulttoadapt.Atothertimestheyarenotthe
screenwriters,andthereareinstanceswherewritershavebeen
veryunhappywiththefilmversionsoftheirwork.RoaldDahl
andStephenKingareexamplesofthis.Evenmoreextremewas
novelistJ.D.Salingerwhomadesurenofilmversionsofhis
