Peerrelationshipshavebeenatopicofinterestinresearchformanyyears,astheyplayanimportantroleinchildren'ssocialandemotionaldevelopment.Thispaperreviewsrecentadvancesinresearchonpeerrelationshipsinchildren,includingthedifferenttypesofpeerrelationships,factorsthatinfluencetheformationandmaintenanceoftheserelationships,andtheimplicationsoftheserelationshipsforchildren'sdevelopment.

TypesofPeerRelationships
