Ifyouwanttheworldtogobacktohowitwasduringyourchildhood,or

behappier,ifonlybecauseyoudidn'tseetheworldasafundamentallyflawed
orevilplace,andbegantoseethegoodintheworld.This,however,isopen
toindividualinterpretation,andyourownexperienceislikelytobedifferent
thanmine.

manyofoursocialrelationshipsarebasedonlittlewhitelieswetelleach
other.Wedeceiveourchildren,onlytobedeceivedbytheminreturn.And
theaverageperson,sayspsychologistRobertFeldman,theauthorofanew

30,000highschoolstudentsthat"cheatinginschoolcontinuestobespreading,
andit'sgettingworse."Inthatsurvey,64percentofstudentssaidthey'd
cheatedonatestduringthepastyear,upfrom60percentin2006.Another
recentsurvey,byJuniorAchievement,revealedthatmorethanathirdofteens
believelying,cheating,orcopyingcanbenecessary,tosucceed,whilea

constitutesa"natural"food.However,thefoodindustryusestheterm
