1、Unit 7A Christmas Carol.Brief Statements Based on the UnitThe great English writer,Charles Dickens,and some of his great works are familiar to most of the Chinese students.Unit 7,A Christmas Carol,is one of Dickens works.In Warming up,some pictures are given to have the students talk about,which are

2、 all related to Dickens works.The students are asked to guess which books they come from,say something about Dickens and tell the time in which he lived.Most students will surely be interested in the topic.Listening is a good material for the students to listen to.Since it is an interesting story,th

3、e students will be eager to know all the information in it.So the students listening ability will be improved.In Speaking,the students are asked to discuss the responsibilities of business people towards both their employee and their customers.Nowadays,some people become mean and greedy in order to

4、make more money.In the TV programmes and newspapers,the students read some reports about fake food products and medicine,especially the fake milk powder in Anhui Province.They have a deep-seated hatred for all these.It is an increasing problem in both cities and the countryside.When the students spe

5、ak of this topic,they must have much to say.Thus,their speaking ability will be improved.The text in Reading is a play written by Charles Dickens.It shows a vivid picture of how Ebenezer Scrooge are mean and greedy.In every line of the dialogue,we can see the characteristics of all the characters.In

6、 Pre-reading,a few questions are listed to let the students recall how people should celebrate Christmas.Then in Reading,they will read about how Ebenezer Scrooge let Bob Cratch it spent his Christmas.From the two different ways,we can see how the rich treat the poor.Different lines in the play and

7、different behaviour can reflect different characters in the play.In the course of reading and analyzing the text,the students will grasp every detailed information.By answering the questions designed in the Pre-reading and Post-reading,the students reading ability will be improved.At the same time,s

8、ome useful words and expressions are given to the students with reading passages.In Word study,some of words appear again to have students learn and master.Grammar is to get the students to review the Adverbial.Different types of exercises have the students learn and master this item from different

9、sides.They will be sure to have a further understanding about the Adverbial.The aims of the reading are also to improve the students reading ability.It is part of the play on Page 57,and tells about how Ebenezer Scrooge learns about his mistakes and improves his way.At the end of the unit,the studen
