3、tems.SwitchesareusedtoconcentratetheEthernetconnectionscomingfromnodessuchasPCs,PLCs,andPrinterstoasinglepoint.Routersareusedtoroutepacketsofdatatonetworkaddressdestinationsdesignatedinthepackets,similartohowtheUSPostalServiceroutesmailtohomesindifferentneighborhoodsbasedontheaddress.Firewallshelpto

4、protectthenetworkfromunwantednetworktrafficandintrusion.Multi-networkarchitecturesareoftenlaidoutinsegmentscalledsubnetsorsubdividednetworks.Subnetscanbesegregatedbasedonarea,function,systems,orevensecurity.Forexampleinanindustrialcontrolsenvironment,therecouldbeanycombinationofsupervisory,PLC,admin
