modatingwomen’spreferenceseffectivelyarereducingthenumberofwomeninelitecompetitivepositions.TheSwedeswillfindthisparadoxicalandtrytofindsolutions.Letushopethesedonotincludebanninggenderpronouns,policingchildren’sy,implementingmoregenderquotas,ortreatingwomen’sspecialattaenttohomeandfamilyasasocialinjustice.Mostmothersdonotaspireto(向往elitecompetitivefull-timepositionstheSwedishpolicieshavegiventhemthedomandopportunitytolivethelivestheyprefer.AmericansshouldlookpastthegenderrhetoricandconsiderwhattheseScandinavianshaveachieved.Ontheirwaytocreatingafeministparadise,theSwedeshaveunintentionallycreatedahaven()fornormalmortals.Swedenhasdonemorethanothernationstoclosethegendergap,butitcontinuestoSwedenisoneofthemostcompetitiveeconomicsintheworldanditspeopleenjoythegreatestlifeMoreAmericanwomenholdelitejobpositionsinbusinessthanSwedishSwedishfamily-friendlypoliciestendtoexertanegativeinfluenceonwomen’sThequotasysteminSwedenensureswomen’sbetterrepresentation
