Thehumanitiesareagroupofacademicdisciplinesthatstudythehumancondition,usingmethodsthat
areprimarilyanalytical,critical,orspeculative.Therefore,theyaredistinguishedfromtheapproachesofthe
naturalsciences.Thehumanities,calledsocialsciences,includehistory,anthropology,communication
studies,culturalstudies,law,language,literature,philosophy,religion,musicandtheater,etc。Through
explorationofthehumanities,studentslearnhowtothinkcreativelyandcritically,toreason,andtoask
questions.Becausetheseskillsallowstudentstogainnewinsightsintoeverythingfrompoetryandpaintingsto
