Why is a
2、paperclip attracted to a magnet? Now that I am older and have a wider knowledge of current physics, I can contemplate other, more involved questions. How is it possible that a cat can be alive and dead at the same time? What exactly is holding an atom together? I am fascinated by these ideas and am
3、hungry to learn the theories needed to attempt to explain them. I welcome the prospect of spending time and effort working with the scientific community to achieve a wider appreciation of the world we live in and trying to attain a level of understanding as high as is possible in a single lifetime.
4、My main interest within physics lies in quantum mechanics. About two years ago I was shown a video on the Internet by an astounded friend that explained the results of Youngs double slit experiment (using electrons) in relatively simple terms. I was stunned to see that a single electron can pass thr
5、ough two slits at once, but as soon as its path is observed it decides to act in a completely different manner! My ignorance of the topic created a desire for me to learn more about this astonishing idea and so I read Quantum: A Guide for the Perplexed by Jim Al-Khallili. From this brilliant book I
6、learnt about the way in which the electron transforms into a probability wave or “wavefunction” and interferes with itself after diffracting out of the slits. The book then introduced me to complex applications of this experiment and, along with various magazine and Internet articles, I clarified fo
7、r myself intricate ideas such as Schrodingers cat and quantum entanglement. I also read The Trouble with Physics by Lee Smolin in which he describes previous attempts at unification of various ideas in physics, such as the successful unification of electricity and magnetism, or the unsuccessful unif
8、ication of light and sound. He then goes on to explain one of the current attempts at the unification of all known forces and particles string theory. I feel that reading on these topics has prepared me well for undergraduate physics and I am excited at the prospect of studying at a higher level. To
9、 familiarise myself with how physics can be used practically, I requested a visit to the Quantum Optics and Laser Science Research Group at Imperial College London. I assisted a PhD student and his supervisor every day for three weeks in their ion-trapping project that aimed to shed light on quantum
10、 computing. My main job was to build a circuit to power an electron beam. The beam was used to form ions from calcium atoms, as ions are more easily manipulated. However, the circuit had to be built in such a way that it would automatically adjust the intensity of the beam to form just the right num
11、ber of ions. In my spare time, I am generally found playing the drum kit. After passing Grade 8 with distinction I have taken up teaching and play in four different music groups: a concert band, a jazz group, a brass band and my own funk fusion band. I enjoy performing in and around London and annua
12、lly touring European countries with the school concert band. To keep fit I play football and table tennis with friends. Competitively, I have represented my school on a number of occasions in football, rugby and athletics competitions. Studying all three sciences and maths at A-level has given me th
13、e opportunity to explore a wide range of different theories, techniques and problems and has provided me with a broad scientific training base from which I wish to develop further. All of these subjects pose exciting challenges, but my main passion is for physics. I very much look forward to immersi
14、ng myself in the subject in future years whilst enjoying other challenges of university life. Yours sincerely, 俄羅斯留學(xué)雙認(rèn)證含義和辦理材料 1、雙認(rèn)證含義 現(xiàn)在俄羅斯所有大學(xué)要求學(xué)生在入系之前必須提供國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)歷公證書(shū)的雙認(rèn)證,所謂雙認(rèn)證就是中國(guó)外交部和俄羅斯駐中國(guó)領(lǐng)事館的認(rèn)證。即在公證書(shū)最后一頁(yè)加蓋中國(guó)外交部和俄羅斯駐中國(guó)領(lǐng)事館的印章,表示雙邊承認(rèn)。 2、雙認(rèn)證的重要性 從2022年起凡是到俄羅斯留學(xué),俄羅斯各大高校在對(duì)學(xué)生的學(xué)歷學(xué)位公證認(rèn)證方面又比以往嚴(yán)格了許多,為確保招生的可信度
15、和真實(shí)性,俄羅斯絕大多數(shù)高校都要求學(xué)生不僅必須要提供文憑(囊括成績(jī)單在內(nèi))的翻譯與公證,并且需要提供俄羅斯駐華大使館和中國(guó)外交部的雙認(rèn)證。 如果沒(méi)有此項(xiàng)雙認(rèn)證,學(xué)生會(huì)在入系時(shí)遇到不便。會(huì)因?qū)W生無(wú)法提供雙認(rèn)證而拒絕辦理學(xué)生的入系手續(xù),所以學(xué)生在預(yù)科期間必須辦理好學(xué)歷雙認(rèn)證。 3、雙認(rèn)證辦理材料 第一、出國(guó)留學(xué)學(xué)歷公證書(shū) : 1、畢業(yè)證公證原件 2、成績(jī)公證原件 3、學(xué)位公證原件 第二、到俄羅斯留學(xué)認(rèn)證材料的要求: 1、公證需俄語(yǔ)譯文,附上譯文與原文相符的證詞。 2、黑、吉、遼、蘇、浙、滬、晥、港、澳如想在北京辦理認(rèn)證,只需在北京辦理公證即可。 3、黑、吉、遼送駐沈陽(yáng)總領(lǐng)館;蘇、浙、滬、晥送駐上海
16、總領(lǐng)館;港、澳送駐香港總領(lǐng)館。 4、送往俄羅斯使用的中國(guó)普通高中、中等專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)校及高等院校或科研機(jī)構(gòu)頒發(fā)的畢業(yè)、學(xué)歷或?qū)W位證書(shū),需辦理使館認(rèn)證、護(hù)照公證、票據(jù)不認(rèn)證。 留學(xué)俄羅斯生活要注意的細(xì)節(jié) 1、進(jìn)門(mén)拖鞋 大家去本地人家里做客,一定要記得在進(jìn)門(mén)的時(shí)候咨詢(xún)是否需要換鞋,一般是肯定的,需要脫下鞋子換上拖鞋才能進(jìn)門(mén),一般主人也會(huì)為大家準(zhǔn)備好,同樣接待客人也要做好準(zhǔn)備。 2、帶上禮物 不過(guò)大家是什么時(shí)候拜訪朋友,即便不是在節(jié)假日,也帶上禮物,這樣會(huì)顯得比較有禮貌,不一定是很貴重的東西,只要是花了心思就很不錯(cuò),禮尚往來(lái)也可以增進(jìn)友誼。 3、贈(zèng)送鮮花 大家如果準(zhǔn)備給其他人送花的話(huà),一定要非常注意花的支數(shù),偶數(shù)花是送給去世的人的,奇數(shù)花才是送給在世的人,一定要區(qū)分清楚,而且非常注意,如果遇到比較計(jì)較的人是會(huì)帶來(lái)不好影響的。 4、握手禮儀 這是一項(xiàng)比較費(fèi)解的利益,要求拜訪者和主人握手的時(shí)候,要在門(mén)外進(jìn)行,不要等走進(jìn)去以后再握手,這樣也許是可以更好地保障屋主的安全,不過(guò)大家還
