1、比較級(jí)與最高級(jí) 比較的用法:雙方比較,表示一方超過另一方時(shí),用“比較級(jí)+than”的結(jié)構(gòu)表示。例如: this pen is但注意這種表達(dá)法: she is thebetter than that one. he is cleverer than his sister.older of the two sisters.表示一方不及另一方時(shí),用less+原級(jí)+than”的結(jié)構(gòu)表示。例如: this park is lessbeautiful than that one.表示一方超過另一方的水準(zhǔn)或數(shù)量時(shí), 可在比較級(jí)前加表示水準(zhǔn)的狀語( 如 even,a lot,abit,a little,sti

2、ll,much,far,yet,by farbefore. things are far worse than expected.等 ) 修飾。例如: he works even harder than注意:英語比較級(jí)前若無even,still,yet等時(shí),譯成漢語時(shí)可用“較”或“一些”,或不譯出,一般不用“更。例如:she feels better than yesterday. 她比昨天好些了。 please come earlier tomorrow. 請明天早點(diǎn)來。注意: by far 通常用于強(qiáng)調(diào)最高級(jí)。用于比較級(jí)時(shí), 一般放在比較級(jí)的后面, 如放在前面, 應(yīng)在中間加“ the ”。

3、例如: he is taller by far than his brother.he is by far the taller of the two brothers.表示一方隨另一方的程序而變化,即表達(dá)“越(就)越”意義時(shí),用the+比較級(jí)(主語 +謂語 ),the+ 比較級(jí) ( 主語+謂語 ) ”的結(jié)構(gòu)。例如: the harder he worked,the moreprogress he made. the more you listen to english,the easier it becomes.不與其它事物相比,表示本身水準(zhǔn)的改變,即表達(dá)“越來越”意義時(shí),用“比較級(jí)+and

4、+比較級(jí) 的結(jié)構(gòu)。 例如: the weather is getting colder and colder. the city is becoming more and more beautiful.“no+比較級(jí)”與“ not+比較級(jí)”結(jié)構(gòu)含義不同?!皀o+比較級(jí)”表示兩個(gè)人(事物)都含有與該形容詞相反的屬性; “not+ 比較級(jí)”表示兩個(gè)事物都具有該形容詞的屬性, 僅僅在水準(zhǔn)上前者不如后者。試比較: tom is no taller than jack.(=tom is as short as jack.) tom is not taller than jack.(=tom is not

5、 so tall as jack.)某些以 or 結(jié)尾的形容詞實(shí)行比較時(shí), 用 to 代替 than 。 ( 這些詞有inferior,superior,junior,senior,prior等。 ) 例如: he is su-perior to mr. wang inmathematics.在比較從句中 , 為了避免重復(fù), 我們通常用 that(those),one(ones) 代替前面出現(xiàn)的名詞。that 指物 ,one 既可指人 , 也可指物。 that 可代替可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)和不可數(shù)名詞, 而 one 只能代替可數(shù)名詞。例如: the book on the table is more i

6、nteresting than that on the desk. a box made of iron is stronger than the one made of wood.倍數(shù)表示法。假定兩事物a和b對比,比較中有a是b的幾倍和a比b大(?。妆秲煞N情況:形容詞 ( 副詞 ) 原級(jí) +as(1)a 是 b 的幾倍可表示為: a is.times as+b./a is.times the size(length/height/amount etc.)of b.例如:這座橋是舊橋的 3倍長。this bridge is three times as long as the old one

7、.this bridge is three times the length of the old one. 解題過程 (2)a比b大(小)幾倍或多(少)幾倍可表示為:a is.times+比較級(jí) +thanb./a is.times+more(less)than b.例如:這座橋比舊橋長3 倍。 this birdge is threetimes longer than that of the old one.=this bridge is four times as long as the old one. 再如:我廠今年的產(chǎn)量比去年多 2 倍。 the output of our pla

8、nt this year is twice larger than last year.=the output of our plant this year is three times the amount of last year. 用 times 表示倍數(shù) , 一般只限于表示包括基數(shù)在內(nèi)三倍或三倍以上的數(shù)。表示 兩倍能夠用 twice 或 double 。最高級(jí)的用法:三者或三者以上相比,表示最高水準(zhǔn)時(shí),用“the+最高級(jí)”的結(jié)構(gòu)表示。這種句式一般常有表示比較范圍的介詞短語。例如: zhang hua is the tallest of the three. he works(the)h

9、ardest in his class. this is the most brave nation in the world.最高級(jí)可被序數(shù)詞以及much,by far,nearly,almost,by no means,not quite,notreally,nothing like 等詞語所修飾。例如: this hat is by far/much/nearly/almost/not nearly/by no means/not quite/nothing like the biggest. how much did the second most expensive hat cost
