Thebornfemalecriminalwasperceivedtohavethecriminalqualitiesofthemaleplus

theworstchaiacteristicsofwomen.AccordingtoLombrosoandFerrero,theseincluded

deceitful-ness,cunningandspiteamongothersandwerenotapparentamongmales.This

appearedtoindicatethatcriminalwomenweregeneticallymoremalethanfemale,

thereforebiologicallyabnormal.Criminalityinmenwasacommonfeatureoftheir

naturalcharacteristics,wherebywomen,theirbiologically-determinednaturewas

antitheticaltocrime.Femalesocialdeviantsorcriminalswhodidnotactaccordingto
