Period 5 Grammar attributive clause Step 1. 關(guān)系副詞when/where/why引導(dǎo)的定語從句 -當(dāng)定語從句所修飾的先行詞邏輯上在定語從句中做狀語(表地點、時間、原因、方式等)時1. when 表示時間,做時間狀語e.g. Ill never forget the time when we worked on the farm.2.where表地點,引導(dǎo)地點狀語從句e.g. T
18、he hotel where we stayed was very clean.3.why 表原因,其先行詞一般是reason,在從句中在原因狀語從句e.g. The reason why he was late was that he missed his train.4.關(guān)系副詞通常可以用 介詞+ which替換when= at/ in / during/ on+whichwhere= in/ at/ on+whichwhy=for+whicheg. 1. the date when/on which we attended the meeting was June 18.2. Great

Is that the reason why / for which he was late for school?Step 2. 關(guān)系副詞和關(guān)系代詞的判斷方法做狀語,用關(guān)系副詞或介詞+ which做主語或賓語,用關(guān)系代詞Eg. 1.Ill never forgot the days when I played with you.3. The factory(that/ which) we visited yesterday was built last year.
20、Step 3. 介詞+which/whom引導(dǎo)的定語從句 修飾物時- which修飾人時-whom Eg. 1.This is the room in which we lived last year.3. This is the person from whomn I borrowed the English novel.注意:1. 含有介詞的動詞短語不能拆開,介詞扔放在動詞的后面。Eg. Is this book which she is looking for?2. 介詞+ which/ whom 既可以引導(dǎo)限制性定語從句,也可以引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。eg. 1.I remember t
21、he day on which I joined the Party.3. He has two daughters, one of which is a nurse.Step 4. 22、;not giving)例詞:speechless,childless,harmless,hopeless,meaningless 3-ly意為:有品質(zhì)的(having the qualities of)例詞:beastly,manly, brotherly,friendly 4-like意為:像的(like)例詞: childlike,statesmanlike,tiger-like 5-y;-ish意為:像一般的(somewhat like)例詞:meaty,sandy, silky,hairy,leafy,watery,foolish,girlish,blackish,thinnish
23、6-some意為:像一樣的;引起的;有品質(zhì)的(like;causing; having the quality of)例詞:troublesome,burdensome,wholesome,tiresome,bothersome 7-able(ible)意為:能的;可以的(able to be ;capable)例詞: changeable,readable,drinkable,comfortable,expansible,convincible 8-ed意為:有的(having,etc)例詞:wooded,pointed,moneyed, odd-shaped 9-al意為:有屬性的,類型的(nature of,typical of)例詞:cultural,personal,regional,musical 10-ary(ory)意為:屬于的,與相連的(belonging to;connected with)例詞:revolutionary,imagi
